It was very strange how we felt when we saw the property for the first time actually. It was very easy to visualise how we wanted it to look and what was the possibility with it... We didn't expect Simon would be available to work with us though so in that regard, we are super fortunate, he is really on demand here and luckily, he has turned away work to be here as he prefers it :) Very lucky.

The stone work is absolutely spot on, well done Simon.😊 Hope all is OK Omar having to pop back to UK. Been thinking of you ... I think it's great to grow from seed.. do you grow passion fruit ? Garlic and ginger, carrots capsicum beans, ..the loafers are looking good.. dont forget to put some leaves, twigs old hay, get some chicken poop from a neighbour and ASH from the fire in ur composts bin to start it off, I would just do brick work otherwise ur boxing yourself in 😊

Thank you Lorraine! We love reading everyone's comments as well every week! Zinnias seeds are the pointy arrow shaped that are at the very bottom, of the bud fo the flower, close to the stem. I learnt this later that day but I didnt really explained it properly in the video. The rest of the flowers have been completely soaked with the rain and they all rot before they could produce seeds. Hopepfully, Im able to grow some from the ones this year but I also have shop-bought seeds just in case.

You should put some kind of cladding to close off the attic space, to keep the cats and other critters out, if nothing else. Also have you harvested your Olives trees yet, and how is the one you moved?
@TheIndigoEscape2 ай бұрын
We havent harvested the olives and many rot due to the excessive rain. Rain is bad for olives so it hasn't been a great year. We will however het some to brine them! The tree we moved it's alive, It needs another 1-2 to get back to how it was before.

@TheIndigoEscape2 ай бұрын
Any closer, the rain would have splashed onto the stone wall and that would probably damage it overtime. We are due for some guttering on all the existign roofs and hopefully we find a way to harvest the water as well.

Hi! Its "Pan-lid Mary"! Congratulations on your little out-door kitchen area! It's beautiful! I so enjoy your videos! Personally, I would close the space above the new tile roof. You might have birds nesting up there, cats and whatever wild climbing critters that may come in from the woods! And it would complete the finished look! I've been collecting my flower's seeds too! I hope they'll grow for us both! I'm so impressed with Simon's abilities to create such an amazing rock wall! When you focused down the length of it, I literally felt my eyes pop open in amazement! What an incredible work of art! They were so beautifully colorful when they were wet! I watch a number of Chateau videos from over in France, and they sometimes use a sealer finish on stones, and it brings out that natural beauty. Something like Osmos? For stones, not the kind for wood. Just wondering... thanks again for bringing us along! Simon and your Hubby look so much alike! Are they twins?
@TheIndigoEscape2 ай бұрын
The cats lobe going there for some reason. The tippytoes (or tippy beans?) sound sat 5am are not fun. We might close it in the future. Might be a bit more difficult now but I gues its duable by sliding the tiles around. Osmos for stones! That sounds interesting. I'll have a look. We are going to have a stone internal wall so something like that would be amazing! Simon is my sister's husband.

For the zinnias they need to be at the very bottom. They look like arrowheads. I didn't explain myself really well but you do get a good 10 seeds at least from one flower. Some of the zinnias that I was hoping to harvest here for seeds got rotten due to the excessive rain but harvesting seeds is so fantastic! I love it! Good luck with yours!

I love watching the brick work. It is beautiful. Also I loved you mentioned San Diego seed company. I live in San Diego and purchase my seeds from them. So nice to know all her seeds will grow in my garden. The zinna seeds are attached to the petals. Little triangle seeds. Its so satisfying to collect them. There are so many varieties of zinnas and cosmos. I haven't collected any cosmos so I'll go look today. I like how they reseed. Get your garlic bulbs and onion starts now as planting starts November thru January. I used to start my onions from seed till one of my youtuber said it was cheaper and easier to just buy the starts. My son-in-law is a youtuber in San diego. Check him out , Jacques in the garden. He also is a content writer on epic gardening also in san diego. I think you will enjoy both! See you next time. P.s. tell bridgette at SD seeds that you included her in your vid. She will get a kick out of it!❤

I love the new space! Will you be able to use it on rainy days? I liked seeing your Mum in the video, even if it was a moment! It is a great idea what your doing with the flowers. Maybe now that I'm feeling 85% better I can try the same with the only flowers I was able to plant and them not die on me, lol! My neighbor across the street kept my grass cut in the front and the sides for me all summer. Now the back looks like a jungle. He calls it snakes. That was 3 months ago. I just told him if he doesn't like it clean it or don't look at it bc there was nothing I could do at that point! He is OCD!! I mean I'm glad he took it upon himself to do it. I tried to pay him. He just couldn't stand it,, LOL!! I'm very grateful! But it just feels weird. Well I've got to start exercising now and get my energy back. I see everything Y'all have accomplished this summer and I get down! But I'm physically feeling so much better! Ok, I'm going to shut up now bc I sound like a roller coaster up/down. Hello Melinda! It will once we have guttering! I am now quite aware of how I missed saying this on this video but I'll remember to do that on the next! Im glad you are feeling much better and your neighbour was so kind to help you with your grass. Neighbours are so key! Please don't get down from other people's progress. Remember Simon works here full-time so you will see a lot, we do NOTHING on weekends though haha. I think also doing youtube videos does gives us a bit of a kick in the butt but its important to also not go full-steam all the time due to exhaustion. You shouldn't be hard on yourself as well as you are just recovering, start slow and with only 1 task a day and see how you progress. Then do 2 tasks a day and so on. Im glad you are feeling much better!

It's late in the evening She's wondering what clothes to wear She puts on her make up And brushes her long blonde hair And then she asks me, "Do I look alright?" And I say, "Yes, you look wonderful tonight" We go to a party And everyone turns to see This beautiful lady That's walking around with me And then she asks me, "Do you feel alright?" And I say, "Yes, I feel wonderful tonight" I feel wonderful Because I see the love light in your eyes And the wonder of it all Is that you just don't realize how much I love you It's time to go home now And I've got an aching head So I give her the car keys She helps me to bed And then I tell her, as I turn out the light I say, "My darling, you are wonderful tonight" Oh my darling, you are wonderful tonight

Zinnia seeds are the little arrow shapes at the end of the dried petals. I'm not sure if you have addressed this already but why did you not extend the lean-to roof further out? Even another 6 inches would have given more coverage and still left room for water runoff to the ground to drain. Great job on the work done but just curious. Simon and Tony are awesome, as usual!😀
@TheIndigoEscape2 ай бұрын
We extended it as much as it was possible because anything longer would send the water towards the stone wall and damage it. We are going to add guttering along the whole roof and the drain to all the roofs (mums room, container and lean to roof) is next to the laundry area. We’ll explain it better next week.
