Disgusting that he's the one who's in trouble, the old lady on the police review board furthering the blame on him saying " as an officer he should have known better" is just disgusting.

So now parking in front your house requires you to show ID????

Unless there's probable cause he doesn't need to give one.. why was he approached? For parking in the street? How was she not the one suspended?

Train them, then PAY them appropriately they're risks, but it's cheaper to not train them, so that justifies they're universally meager salary.

They wanted him to be a 'good boy' and allow the officer to violate him. Thats what they mean by complying. A regular citizen would have to be released, but, since they like to abuse authority, they contacted his agency. Crooked all the way up the ladder.

The first thing she should've done was asked him if he needed help. That's what I do because it doesn't provoke people.

It seems in video after video, many police people don't know how to handler scenarios where people they are confronting know their rights and refuse to cooperate with inappropriate police requests. Police aren't allowed to demand that someone show them their id without cause, but I've seen many videos where the police demand to see a person's id for seemingly no reason and when the person says "no", the police don't handle that defiance, a citizen standing up for their rights under the law. Then the police person becomes more demanding and often goes into bully mode. This appears to be so common that training needs to address this problem.

How do you expect the officers to do their best and stop other officers from harassing civilians before they themselves get sued when instead of giving them kudos you reprimand them for not treating civilians just as bad.Fuck me what planet are we on!

What did he do though? What crime did he commit? I'm a little confused... arguing and exercising one's rights doesn't seem like an offense of any kind.

2:13 If _"he would have been asking for ID,"_ the policies are wrong. There was no crime here. There was just a woman double-parked in a residential street while she took groceries into her house. Smithfield COP should have asked lady what's up, said don't stay long, and carried on her way.

If parking is a big issue that means there’s no other crime there. It must be the safest place in the US, people will move there in droves after this!

You notice the cop in uniform was not trying to listen to what was going on. He was not the one who parked the car so he had no legal obligation to show ID. The lady officer was told numerous times by witnesses he was not the driver of the vehicle. But she acted just like every other cop and got upset because somebody just didn’t blindly follow her orders. What was it that she did to show she had received any training on how to de-escalate a situation? All she had to do was stop and listen for 60 seconds, but she wasn’t interested in the facts! Just saying
