Yes its loud.. But i have a 960 and it kept missing dog hair and it had to keep being run over and over and over till finally all the dog hair was gone. So I’m going to return it and get the 980 which is currently on sale. Since I’m only using it for my upstairs which is got carpet and I’m downstairs I think I can deal with some noise.

I'm still not convinced that this methodical cleaning is better than the old semi-random one. I've seen some reviews in which they say it actually cleans worse than the old series 8.

+FattusMaximos It probably depends on your home layout. My 880 often skips cleaning my bedroom, or can't find its way out of it. I'd love to see how the 980 does.

It looks like it actually remembers where "walls" are, even an "island". So it goes back to it and scrubs the edges. But I guess if your room layout makes it hard for it to map that area, a random wandering robot would have eventually gone to it instead.

Thanks for this video, my husband wanted a Roomba but I was thinking there's no way they're silent, and our cat HATES the regular vacuum. Now we know how loud these are and know the cat would not have a good time haha.

Try a few nightlights,Just one placed in a room or if its a bigger room a few and it solves the problem.

What about if you block an area on the first pass? Will it think there's a "wall" there and not go back to it like it did when it's scrubbing the corners?
