Vidic came to my country Malaysia for a meet and greet with fans in a shopping mall back in 2018. I went early to be right at the front line. I shook his hand and took a picture with him. I went for lunch. Watched a movie. 4 hours later I walked past the Vidic venue and he was still there taking pictures and signing autographs 💪

Nowadays, certain footballers can have 1 great season, become over-inflated in value, and be bought by Chelsea or ManU. So they know they can get the bag for minimum amount of work and if they're greedy they can just run off to saudi. I can honestly say that vidic is the best CB of all time. Most people always mention the 3 italians, nesta, maldini, cannavaro and in this era ramos. I watched all these players play and even though they were legends I still believe vidic was the best. If ferdinand ever overshadowed vidic, it was because he was one the first old school tall sweeper style which was more talented with the ball and a better athlete. He introduced a modern version of the sweeper. Vidic was the ultimate modern cb. Fast, strong, fearless, passionate, a leader, great aerial ability, could score, great at tackling, could read the game and could hold the ball without panicking and could pass just fine. Perfect.
