People say Pewdiepie is an asshole or something for turning off the comments, but the reason he did it is because all he would get in the comments section is people self-advertising, hateful phrases/words, and trolling. He does interact with his audience through Reddit and Twitter because he has more control over it and people can have actual discussions and people can give him advice on his videos easier (that's what the comment section was made for).

Archie Matimatico Pffff, everyone knows that RT are bad ass enough to have their own legitimate website and don't have to leech off of others to stay in contact with their fans. Pewds cared too much and will always get spam because his audience is comprised of 11 year olds. RT doesn't give a fuck about youtube.. because they know all the real fans are on their website, and 90% of the real fans are adults. And you forgot about how Ebola will kill off everyone in TX.

kiraanimerawr1 Burnie cares a little (albeit very, very little) about the KZbin community since when he uploads a video, he spends about an hour of his time leaving comments and replies. He's trying to foster positivity when he can but without any way to actually make a big impact, he hesitates to call the KZbin commenters a "community". He just knows enough not to let the KZbin comments weigh on his mind.

Ironic that Pewdiepie is somehow stupid for turning off comments because thats how you communicate with the community when roosterteeth almost never talk in the comment section or react to the 50/50 dislike towards some content. Not saying they have to, just that it's weird of them to call him out for it when they don't use it for those reasons. Also when Pewdiepie has millions of subscribers its because he 'gets auto subscribed' but when someone points out that youtube also recommends roosterteeth in the same list it's "youtube has great algorithms" I don't even like pewdiepie it just felt like mindless hate

You should go on the roosterteeth website because they communicate on their website. The KZbin roosterteeth community just complains and to be honest I don't think they don't care if your watching on KZbin because their community is on their site where they get feedback while the videos on KZbin is just a a place to watch their videos. Kinda like a tv channel.

At this point, it may seem like to him that he no longer actually have a community but just the worst part of all youtube comments.

Actually, pure sulphuric acid won't do anything to you. Because it's still stable, it's not ionized. If you happen to spill pure sulphuric acid on your hand or wherever, nothing will happen. But when it contacts water, then *you're fucked*. When a strong acid contacts water, the polar water will ionize the acid (rip it in to parts, one has one electron more, one has less. The Hidrogen atom, or rather, a proton is ripped from the acid (because it doesn't have its electron), and the rest (HSO4 with one electron more, or SO4 with 2 electrons more). THAT is the thing that's gonna fuck you up, because it's SUPER reactive. It's just gonna rip apart your skin and muscles. Why? Because the nucleophilic SO4 will want to rip apart another molecule to be stable, but then that ripped apart part will want to be stable, so IT will rip apart some other molecule... and so on. tl;dr: If you get a strong acid or alkali somewhere on you, *do not* wash it off. Just brush it off with something dry.
@braindrop851610 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the tip, haha. But what if the SA hits your eyes or goes into your mouth? Will it ionize?
@laszlosimon88410 жыл бұрын
you are an idiot. pure sulphuric acid is so hygroscopic, it sucks the water out of any kind of surface it hits (even if the water is in a compound). It will carbonise your hand in less than a second. Also even the air is humid to some degree, so with your "logic" it will still "activate".

Fun fact: Gavin is right with the mirror looking in the past thing. Actually you always see your past self if you look at yourself in the mirror, as it takes light some time to reach your eyes. HOWEVER, doesn't matter where you look, it's always the past you see because: 1. it takes time for light to bounce from the object to your eye 2. it takes time for your brain to process the signals

A problem with that is in order to see in the past you have to get the mirror there faster than the speed of light. If Gavin wanted to see the JFK assassination, he would need to get the mirror 50 light-years away from the earth instantly, and then wait 50 years to get the reflection back.

Hold on hold on hold on... Gavin - you're a fucking genius... In a hypothetical situation... if we discovered wormholes and had the ability to open the wormhole near earth, take a satellite (outfitted with insane technology in magnification and what-not), warp through the wormhole from near-earth to near the edge of the universe itself (where it's still expanding), and (given in this hypothetical situation:) there is not a SINGLE thing between this quantum satellite and earth itself, we could actually have the satellite point towards earth, and start recording! Of course, I'm saying this telescopic satellite has quantum mechanics (as in, it's technology that bends the rules of limits and breaks probability to the point of possibility). We could actually SEE earth as it just gets created, all the events that led to the growth of organisms, meteorite crashes, alien encounters, etc! Cause light at the near edge of the universe is light that the earth FIRST reflected from the sun! (edit: or the big bang itself, with the first light coming from comets or the creation of our giant star near the rock that earth is)... Of course, I'm saying in this completely *hypothetical* situation, as the quantum satellite is pointed towards the earth, not a *SINGLE* meteor, comet, star, galaxy, or any other object in the world is between the quantum satellite and earth... which is near impossible - but that is why I'm saying it's a quantum satellite and not a powerful normal one. *hypothetically*... we could literally look back in time!.... o_o' Edit #2: And to look forward in time, this quantum satellite moves towards the earth, away from the pull of the universe expanding. As the satellite moves (at what would be light-speed), we could literally see time fast forward before our very eyes, making time-travel (in the sense of observation) an actual possibility!) O-O'
@cheesea32310 жыл бұрын
How would there not be a single thing from the edge of the universe to earth? and if there were a wormhole, what would be stopping the ripple in space in time from taking earth with it, and to get a mirror that big would be nearly impossible. Also the tilt of the earth limits what you would be able to see in that mirror, that would probably be so big that it would exhaust a lot of our resources, therefore, it's nearly impossible
@masterkevkev10 жыл бұрын
cheesea323 You have not read a single thing... at all... >~>... I'm debating whether to remove that pointless reply. First off, logically - we're opening a wormhole not *ON* earth, but *near* it, and throwing in this quantum satellite through it. With quantum calculations - we calculate that this wormhole will open up in a safe open area in space, near the edge of the universe (or we try with trial and error via. luck). When the satellite comes through near the *edge of the universe*, it can point the quantum lenses towards the direction where earth is (/ *would be*) and start recording. If these lenses could record down to the hair of earth humans, then we could see history unfold right before our very eyes. The only flaw of this is - we can only see one SIDE of the earth. Buildings, natural landscapes, and other obstacles would hinder that angle. BUT, theoretically - we could still see the *past* and see how civilization grew and adapted.
@Carrotspy10 жыл бұрын
Although he was wrong about the 1 year thing, it would be 2 years. And there's also the problem of keeping the mirror steady because it's bound to get effected by gravity. And now that I think about it, that mirror would be so big it would attract other stuff, collapse into itself and turn into a giant planet. Although I'm not sure if a planet that big would be possible, it might break into other planets or something other sciency that I haven't learned yet would happen.
@masterkevkev10 жыл бұрын
Has anybody read my reply in this comment chain...? Seriously?... Read it... I support Gavin's Idea to a certain extent, read the rest of the comment to see why I call Gavin a genius (for helping me figure out that this possibility exists out there).

Gavin is right about the mirror thing, on a basic level at least. Because it is impossible for us to go faster than light to put the mirror up at whatever distance, we would never be able to see anything that took place before the launch of the mirror. However, what would be fun is to stumble upon a very large mirror that was put out there by some alien race, thousands of years ago, at (let us say) 250 light-years from Earth. IF (a big if) the mirror is large enough to provide the required resolution (imagine a mirror as large as a planetary system) AND we had a telescope large enough to pick up the details (a telescope as large as the Moon? no, much bigger, see below), then we would see things as they were, on Earth, 500 years before the observation. This also requires the mirror to be facing EXACTLY in the correct orientation. Now, imagine that this mirror is approaching us at half the speed of light. So that one year later, it is only 249 light-years away. We would then see what happens 498 years in the past. In one year, we would see two years of our history. Pretty unrealistic, but somewhat cool. --- A person on Earth measures (let's say) 2 metres. To be able to resolve a person (as a single point) from a distance of 500 light-years (4.73*10^18 m) requires us to reach a resolution angle of 2/(4.73*10^15) radians = 0.0000000000001" -- I rounded up to keep things simple) Using Dawes' Limit, This would require a telescope with a diameter of 116 mm / 0.0000000000001" = 1.16*10^15 mm = 1.16*10^12 m = 1.16*10^9 km = 7.7 Astronomical Units. 1 AU is the average distance from Earth to the Sun, so that our unrealistic telescope would have to have a diameter equivalent to the diameter of the asteroid belt. Of course, this means that the alien mirror would have to be at least half that size: diameter of 7.7/2 AU = diameter of 3.8 AU = radius of 1.9 AU = bigger than the orbit of Mars (1.52 AU)

I agree with Barbara about the comment part. Like if the comments are off on a video it kinda pushes me away from watching it. I don't exactly know why but i think it's because if i can't comment on a video i can't share my thoughts about the video which i do like to do. Sometimes i make negative comments as well and i apologize for them and i feel bad for making them but i like to share my thoughts and perhaps someone agrees with me which makes people understand eachother better. It's also never good to force people to communicate on something else that they are not comfortable with. I like having more options on what i can do than having less and I'm sure most people can agree with me on that. I must also mention something funny. Like from all the years I've spent with RT (Not working with them to make that clear) it's like everything they have even if it's super small, it all has a story behind it which is also very interesting and funny to listen to.

I feel sorry for Dan, whenever they talk about The Slo Mo Guys they focus on Gavin,like its a 100% him
@germansausagesarezewurst10 жыл бұрын
Gavin mainly created the Slo Mo guys when he discovered how awesome the phantom is. He just invited Dan to Co-Host the videos with him.
@DaPopeANata10 жыл бұрын
kyle Demartino Exactly. Nothing against Dan, but it's Gavin's skill with the Phantom that made the show possible in the first place. While he is entertaining, Dan isn't strictly needed for the show to happen. Gavin could have picked anybody to be a co-host, even switching the co-host every episode. The important part of the show is the slow motion effect, which is all Gavin's doing. Dan is just an added bonus.

The Vernors thing is 100% true. Not only does it taste great, everyone drinks it when they're sick. In Michigan, I think it started out that people thought it worked for making you feel better, but now It's just kind of a comfort thing. It is super strong though, if you smell it while its going down it burns.

I hate when a KZbinr disables the comment section because they're disabling a community, not even many comments are directed to the KZbinr but to the community, i think you shouldn't be able to disable the comment section.

I can't believe Burnie "can't debunk" Gavin's mirror-based look-back-in-time machine. The mirror would have to be the exact same number of LY away as the number of years ago the event happened, and to be able to see things that have already happened, you would need FTL travel to overtake the light from said events to be able to put a mirror out there and then get back to Earth observe it. But by that point, you might as well just go out far enough to look back at the Earth and see the event happening (essentially) in real time. FTL travel contravenes our most fundamental laws of physics. If I understood the concept of 'warp speed' travel better, I'd talk about it, but I know better than to profess on something I don't understand on the internet... a trait apparently not shared by the RT Podcast crew.
@TheAlchemist020110 жыл бұрын
At what point did the podcast crew claim to know about time travel or the science behind? They're having a conversation, not giving a lecture.
@klaytonrocks10 жыл бұрын
Arturo Luna No one claimed to know anything, but the user is debunking Gavin's theory in Burnie's place. I found it pretty interesting myself.
