thank YOU for lesson! R 3 7 - theres something magic in "thirds" or "triangles" in music, power trios, or for example triads from past videos. i wonder why.

I developed callous OB the outside of my pinky from forcing myself to finger the 6th-string-root 7th chord like Tomo does. I notice Tyler does it the other way when he interviewed Tomo though. I almost changed…almost.. but didn’t.

@@ricfaust21 I don't use tab but I use this way... DbMaj7 = 9 X 10 10 9 X = R X M7 M3 5 X ... this way you can learn with music theory & ear training.

It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that swing! definitely important to learn this lesson, it almost sounds a bit like Reggae with the up stroke being as important as the down stroke, "maybe I'm wrong" but definitely takes some practicing, root third and seventh I'll remember that! thanks so much for sharing this lesson with all of us.

Thank you for this lesson! I have watched a few of your R-3-7 swing videos and this one is very helpful. For the 2nd chord, are you muting strings 1 and 2 with your first finger? When I try to do that, my 2nd finger is not straight enough and it touches the 4th string and mutes it a little. Is that normal?
@TomoFujitaMusic Жыл бұрын
You’re very welcome! Glad to hear that. Take your time figure out how to mute well.

I have a hard time hearing the metronome as the snare on 2 and 4 for some reason.

Hi Tomo, may I ask a question? I'm one of your guitar wisdom students, currently going through your chords foundation section and learning drop 2 chords. You emphasize that playing them on the top 4 (highest) strings is useful, but on the two lower strings not so much as the sound is more distinguishable in the higher tones. Do you recommend also knowing drop 2 chords on the lower e and a strings or no? Just for more complete knowledge and musician's ability? Many thanks!

Please ask this at the forum so we all can write back to you! Thank you so much! Don't worry that much on 5432 set. 1234 sets are more useful and use it more with other voicings then more musical!
@sven5216 Жыл бұрын
@@TomoFujitaMusicthanks Tomo :) I will ask this question on the forum as well. I get why you say this about 1234 string sets - it's like with triads, you can create more of a voice with the high tones

It's so complicated, it would be great if there is a score 😁
@TomoFujitaMusic Жыл бұрын
No need to have score! Need to understand them slowly... first 43 seconds... only two types of chords! 6 X 6 7 X X = R X b7 M3 X X ... if you don't know about b7 or M3 You can learn basic theory & ear training to be able to hear those.
