Once again, I drop by, copy the decklist and leave this algorithmic offering without watching a second of the video. I hope a comment and a like are worth about as much as a view to you. Keep up the great work!

I played a version of this deck that had "Collectors Vault" in it and it made the deck much faster and better.

List or it didnt happen

Collector's vault is low-key the best midrange card for any deck that cares about the graveyard or needs mana fixing, so it's no surprise that it does well here, but with so much competition in the 1-2 mana slot in this archetype, I find it a bit hard to fit in a deck that wants to utilise creatures as much as possible and already struggles not to be run over by aggro before it gets going. If you're going Sultai, one Vault alongside several Oblivious Bookworms does very well for filtering and getting creatures into the GY, and while manifest support isn't strictly necessary, it's a good way to cultivate a graveyard while putting up blockers and getting card advantage out of the bookworm.

Def wanna see a list 😏
@samuelgames897013 күн бұрын
surely you'd be better to just splash blue for a looting creature? Roots already struggles (at least for me) to have enough creatures in the GY to exile/get back and against aggro, i dont see how they really helps it tbh. But hey list if you have it pls XD

I'm actually doing rather well with Roots on Arena: Deck: 3 Insidious Fungus (DSK) 186 4 Llanowar Elves (FDN) 227 4 Woodland Acolyte (WOE) 241 2 Glissa Sunslayer (ONE) 202 3 Enduring Innocence (DSK) 6 4 Harvester of Misery (BIG) 9 4 Overlord of the Balemurk (DSK) 113 1 Altanak, the Thrice-Called (DSK) 166 4 Say Its Name (DSK) 197 4 Tear Asunder (DMU) 183 4 Insidious Roots (MKM) 208 3 Forest (THB) 2543 3 Swamp (THB) 252 4 Lush Portico (MKM) 263 3 Blooming Marsh (OTJ) 266 2 Llanowar Wastes (BRO) 264 2 Shadowy Backstreet (MKM) 268 2 Brushland (BRO) 259 2 Concealed Courtyard (OTJ) 268 1 Underground Mortuary (MKM) 271 1 Razorverge Thicket (ONE) 257 Sideboard 4 Destroy Evil (DMU) 17 4 Deadly Brew (STX) 176 3 Anoint with Affliction (ONE) 81 3 Ghost Vacuum (DSK) 248 1 Render Inert (MOM) 123 Mana base is trash because I only got into Standard a few months ago thanks to you lol (non-rotating formats have always been my thing). The list you are playing here certainly has some interesting things going! Personally after some time playing with all the surveil dorks I decided to just play better creatures and a card advantage engine. What's nice is a lot of people miss that Enduring Innocence not only triggers roots when it comes back into play but also draws you a card!

I am a roots lover. Roots is what me move into standard I’m glad to see it back.
That first opponent trying to play Make Your Own Luck/Omni Show and Tell from Gladiator work in Standard or something? lol.

I mean Ali eldrazi was playing a list like that recently but the wincon was that card that makes 2 tokens and gives all your creatures +1/+1 and haste, it's quite a bit quicker than helix specially with herd migration and or Atraxa on board.

oh, i never even thought about option for atraxa. very nice.

I’ve been brewing up a deck like this in honor of the winning deck in standard when I first got into magic (LSV aristocrats deck origin 2016) but I found that scavenging ooze was a slower engine than natuko husk from his deck so I moved in blue and just created a graveyard matters deck that does kinda the same thing

They probably managed to avoid every single meta matchup or smth otherwise I can’t see this being viable in any way lol. Like sure it’s more resilient to single target removal than the gorehound versions but enchantment removal and graveyard hate are too prevalent in this meta for this deck to be decent.

Just couldn't get on board with this version - doesn't cover the early game well enough. Though I had far more fun and success updating my old roots deck (Gorehound varient) with Scavenging Ooze (and finally had all the wildcards for Tyvar).

OK. My roots deck. But it's has been kind of mothballed and not updated for Foundations at all. Deck 4 Llanowar Wastes (BRO) 264 7 Forest (LTR) 271 2 Thornvault Forager (BLB) 197 1 Restless Cottage (WOE) 258 1 Virtue of Persistence (WOE) 115 5 Swamp (ANB) 116 1 Defossilize (LCI) 103 3 Intrepid Paleontologist (LCI) 193 1 Chupacabra Echo (LCI) 97 1 Tyvar, Jubilant Brawler (ONE) 218 1 Spinewoods Armadillo (OTJ) 182 3 Honest Rutstein (OTJ) 207 4 Insidious Roots (MKM) 208 4 Underground Mortuary (MKM) 271 1 Rampaging Spiketail (LCI) 116 4 Rubblebelt Maverick (MKM) 174 1 Conduit Pylons (OTJ) 254 1 Smuggler's Surprise (OTJ) 180 1 Bristlebud Farmer (BIG) 17 1 Bristly Bill, Spine Sower (OTJ) 157 3 Cache Grab (BLB) 167 1 Nurturing Bristleback (LCI) 203 1 Terror Tide (LCI) 127 1 Curious Forager (BLB) 169 1 Lively Dirge (OTJ) 93 1 Keen-Eyed Curator (BLB) 181 1 Overlord of the Balemurk (DSK) 113 1 Agatha's Soul Cauldron (WOE) 242 1 Insidious Fungus (DSK) 186 1 Faerie Dreamthief (WOE) 89 1 Uurg, Spawn of Turg (DMU) 225 Guess I'll play a couple of games and update it..

Tuned the deck.. Now it does OK at platinum tier .. Deck 4 Llanowar Wastes (BRO) 264 9 Forest (LTR) 271 1 Thornvault Forager (BLB) 197 1 Restless Cottage (WOE) 258 1 Virtue of Persistence (WOE) 115 2 Swamp (ANB) 116 1 Llanowar Elves (DAR) 168 1 Chupacabra Echo (LCI) 97 1 Tyvar, Jubilant Brawler (ONE) 218 4 Spinewoods Armadillo (OTJ) 182 2 Honest Rutstein (OTJ) 207 4 Insidious Roots (MKM) 208 4 Underground Mortuary (MKM) 271 1 Llanowar Elves (J25) 149 4 Rubblebelt Maverick (MKM) 174 2 Conduit Pylons (OTJ) 254 1 Smuggler's Surprise (OTJ) 180 1 Bristlebud Farmer (BIG) 17 4 Cache Grab (BLB) 167 1 Llanowar Elves (FDN) 227 1 Curious Forager (BLB) 169 2 Lively Dirge (OTJ) 93 1 Keen-Eyed Curator (BLB) 181 1 Overlord of the Balemurk (DSK) 113 1 Agatha's Soul Cauldron (WOE) 242 1 Festering Gulch (OTJ) 257 1 Llanowar Elves (DAR) 168 1 Skyfisher Spider (BRO) 221 1 Bristly Bill, Spine Sower (OTJ) 157 1 Cenote Scout (LCI) 178 Sideboard 1 Ghost Vacuum (DSK) 248 1 Terror Tide (LCI) 127 -- Sideboard is of course incomplete there.. Little bit more lands might make it more consistent but I don't know what to cut.. Bristly Bill is kinda not essential - be he is a plant and can double the +1/+1 counters speeding it up. Dinosaur & palenotologist package was replaced with Llanowar elves (there's 4 - they're just all different art) and more pinewood armadillos - that are kinda important against aggro.. Karens are still kind of a problem - but Chubacabra echo can handle them and there's various ways to get it into play and reuse.. Like two lively dirges so the amount of removal is not as low as it may seem...
@Jawzah13 күн бұрын
2 honest rutsteins, two Insidious roots and a Tyvar can loop indefinitely.. Not that it is usually necessary - just part of that combo usually makess the opponent scoop and changes of getting it arre not that high. Mght want to play with 2 Tyvars .. Mybe more squirrels could be good. The curious forager can doubke trigger the roots - one by foraging the second by returning a creature ad there's lot of surveil and self mill.. Not the easiest deck to pilot with all that surveil tho but not that hard either..
@Jawzah13 күн бұрын
Was looking if I got harvester of misery .. I don't - and dunno if worth using a wildcard for.. But found - Ashnod's Harvester .. that should be good for roots. :O Being artifact might be bit of a downside in my deck - but extra type would actually be good with Atraxa..

Ummm, you’re blown away by 9 wins, but i am like what is a draw????
@michaelbutta476415 күн бұрын
I am pretty sure she is refering to paper magic where you can time out of your third match as you have a fixed amount of time for all of your games to be played within. Both yourself and your opponent can already have one game win when the match time limit expires at which point you draw the match for 1 point each (win 2, draw 1, lose 0). This indicates the deck assembles and wins slowly and is unlikely to be terribly strong choice in the meta. It is fun and spicy for sure though!
