I am 61 and trying to to grow a small homestead and garden unfortunately after selling my house in Pa and moving to a fixer upper in Nc my husband of 40 years suddenly passed away, so I am doing this pretty much alone. I love Charles Dowding, and actually honed in on him through YOU, Jess. I love him a lot because he is an older gardener like me, and although I probably am still several years older than he is, it is nice to hear his take on plants and growing. He's also a bit in the same climate as me, maybe even colder. I also love my younger KZbin community as they have heart, daring, AND wisdom that comes with having to deal in a very intimate way with this new and crazy world we find ourselves in. I’m too tickled … we all love Charles D and we all love you, Jess . You have no idea of how many times I’ve planted seeds thinking Jess said “they’ll be ok, they WANT to grow, they (plants) want to reproduce “ 😂. But ya know what , - they really do! I’ve almost given up on a plant or two but decided to let it fight the circumstance and it totally overcame the setbacks. Way back when … when I first met you @ Deep South, your channel was young … I think I had subbed when it was in the 600s range. I was just getting started in the garden & also KZbin, ( my little greenhouse was the land of red solo cups😅) and I was taking the Master Gardener’s certification classes here. Time sure does fly!!! I’ve learned a lot from both of you! I’ve also learned a lot from Miah. Because of him, I tackled cattle panel arches on my own. It’s how I built my first tiny lil greenhouse. I love Charles too. Living now in Minnesota I consistently recommend two channels. You, Jess, for the philosophy and love of gardening. For the confidence, to learn, do and make mistakes. Other one is MI gardener for the science in short bursts-and many more climate appropriate. Charles is time and placeless. I stream his videos when I need a lift. Jess- your videos are so amazing to me as I take my townhouse garden classroom to my one third acre garden. You inspire me so much, I had to have the beds like yours. It reminds me every morning when I go out with my tea that the garden is for me. Just as you love your garden.

Hello Jessica, this is Mark Stewart Wilson. I want to start out by saying when I was very young my grandfather and my biological dad taught me how to garden over the years. I could not garden because I moved all over the country and as of 20:08 around there I took a Master garden class and I passed. That taught me a lot more about gardening and I'm in a class right now to finish out knowing all about other things other than what the Master Gardener class taught me. It's been many years since I've done my last class of gardening, but I want to get into gardening next year to have it sustainable vegetable garden, herb garden and a flower garden. I do want to say I found your KZbin channel by accident. You and Maya have been my inspiration. I'm wanting to do a garden all over again for sustainable living. I like what you're doing right now but getting back to the heat of things I've been with you almost since day one when you put out your first KZbin channel.

Hello Jess, up until today I had no idea who you were. I am from England and have followed Charles from the beginning and met him a couple of times. I cannot tell you, how much absolute joy your video brought to me. Watching it reminded me of how I used to feel when I first discovered Charles and also the first time I went to see his garden. It is an absolute delight to see your lovely little face, full of joy and excitement. The story about your children not knowing whether Charles was real or not was absolutely gorgeous. Also, the idea of watching Charles Dowding videos for a little child to send him off to sleep is one of the loveliest things I have heard of and I will be practising that with my new granddaughter who is only eight weeks old when she is a little bit older. Carry on your wonderful work over there on the other side of the world. You remind me so much of myself when I was young and still thriving for knowledge.
