I don't wear anything that is readable, as my chest as a billboard isn't where I need attention. This year we have a high tunnel and my tomato starts are on track with yours this year! So the first year our garden joys can line up. 🙌💚 Jess you have definitely motivated me in many ways from seeing the Lord in all things, to dealing with the death of farm animals, to letting kids garden with you, to getting me to start my own garden and believe in the infinitely more God has in store! Thank you! We have a farm and have for years but it was just horses, chickens, and dogs. We never had a garden. So it’s been fun utilizing more and more space for gardening!

Great video! Your seedlings look very healthy, and I can tell you take good care of them. My list is not nearly a extensive as yours. I used to grow a large garden, but moved into town about 11 years ago, where I didn't have room. I recently moved a house in the country, with plenty of space to garden, so I am growing a larger garden again. Most of the tomato seeds I planted this year are ones I saved as long as 14 years ago, and the germination rate was amazingly good this year. Here's what I am growing this year, all open pollinated varieties... 1884 Black From Tula Black Krim Cherokee Green Cherokee Purple Crnkovic Yugoslavian Eva Purple Ball Flathead Monster German Johnson Green Giant Mama Leone Martino's Roma Mortgage Lifter Neves Azorean Pink Pantano Romanesco Spudatula Black Uncle Charlie's Giant Italian Plum Yellow Mortgage Lifter Black Cherry Red Cherry

Jess I so relate with finding a love for homegrown food by fresh 🍅! I never been a huge tomato fan but only ever had store bought and would eat them and this last year I grew a sungold yellow cherry tomato and it was life changing lol. I never knew thats how it was supposed to taste!!!!

One I've been growing for years! My family would be devastated if I didn't grow Sun Gold in my garden!😅 Btw...want a large yellow one, try Kellogg's Breakfast. I'm like Miah where I just really can't stand the taste & texture of tomatoes, also all I can always taste is just acid! However, when I grew the Kellogg's last year my Mom said it "taste like a peach!" Sure enough, I tried it & it actually tasted like a peach!🍑 I finally found a tomato last year that I could eat raw!😲

Greetings Jess, and all tomato lovers! Have you ever heard of the "Dwarf Tomato Project"? They are all open pollinated, full size tomatos on dwarf (4-5' tall) plants. I am trying them this year because I'm short and its hard trellising indeterminate tomatos in a raised bed!

I grew DTP tomato plants in buckets (20 plants, 11ish types) for the first time and LOVE them. I'm putting them in the garden soon . Good flavor and production plus not having to trellis so much sold me. Good luck!

I'm trying 6 varieties of dwarf this year mostly because I'm going to have a short growing season due to moving and I need some early producers and I didn't have any luck with garden soil last year anyway and all of my full-size tomatoe plant bit the dust as soon as they set their first fruits... So I'm going to do all dwarfs in containers. I'm excited!

I’m doing a dozen or so dtp toms this year in the Uk 😁 looking forward to Rosella Purple, Uluru Ochre, Velvet Night, Awesome, Purple Heart, Goldfinch, Caitydid, Gloria’s Treat (don’t think that’s actually officially released just yet) and those are just what I can think of off my head 🙈 really looking forward to them!

One of my fave condiments is tomato, cucumber, onion, and fresh basil marinated in balsamic vinegar, olive oil, and salt. Keeps for a few days in the fridge so you can use your beautiful colors and not feel guilty 😄

@@alexachen996 Sometimes I eat it alone as a salad when I make it fresh (you could add avo and cheese too!), but after it's been soaking for at least several hours I like to put some on sandwiches. So yummy!

Thank you :) I love that you touched on it being ok to not fill the garden with every single thing! Gardens are all so much to do with the journey and surprise. Being so close to God's work is beautiful and healing to stress over having everything! Is so easy. In short, how much is your time worth. Loved this🥰

I've heard your Paul Robeson story several times. It makes me smile each time. I love it. And I'm excited about your 220 tomato plants. I have maybe 20 varieties but can only plant about 20 plants at a time. I'm giving my seedlings away because I want SOMEONE to grow them! Thanks for the inspiration, Jess 👍🏽

So I did a thing today. Learning from you to freeze tomatoes then defrost and skin peels off. Well I cut out the stem thing and lined them up on a cookie sheet over night in the freezer then peeled and into the pot, so simple so thank you so much for that. Many more tomatoes to go and save the step of boiling water and ice, not to mention time. Thank you again. Happy Spring
