And all Gods people said “Amen!” 👏🏻 Jess, thank you for obeying the Lord and being His mouth piece. I could feel the Holy Spirit with me in my kitchen as I listened to you talk and pray. Ms. Linda, I know of the pain you speak too. And I am sooo grateful that much like Jess, I never associated it to my relationship with God. I'm sorry you were hurt, many in the church have been. The church is one of places being shaken, it too will be cleaned up. Much love, sister.

I find value in the limited number of devotional videos that you post. Not in a matter of not wanting to hear God speak thru you. But more in a view of concentration and value. Have you ever had an elder of your family that didnt say a whole lot, but when they spoke, it was of pure and concetrated in value and all around would listen? Speak when your spirit is stirred to do so. 🥰 Thank you for being pure and honest always.

So brave. You can't imagine how much I needed that. At 73 and living in a one-bedroom apartment I am a little bit afraid. But I do know God is here. Thank you Jess….I’ve been having a conversation with my niece who is in her early 20s, I have been praying for her for a long time to come back to Jesus. Just last night I said to her. We are here when you are ready to come “home”, referencing the prodigal son. So much of what you said speaks to me about her. She said, it’s been so long since I have heard God. I know I am in darkness. She is a single mom, veteran, cancer survivor and I just want her to come home . Please pray for her with me. Her name is Melissa.

Oh, Abba! Thank You for sharing Melissa's name with us through her Aunt Hannah. She obviously loves her very much but You gave Your very life so that Melissa could stand before the Lord, covered, cleansed from every failure and despicable plan of the enemy. Please prepare her heart to Hear You speak. Plow that hard baked ground. Make it soft and pliable. Open her eyes to Your truth, love, righteousness and peace. Bind the spirits of loss, abandonment, rage, hate, doubt, and hopelessness. Remove Melissa's heart of stone and replace it with Your heart of flesh. Set her apart for Your glory and for Your kingdom! In Jesus I pray. Amen

Oh Jess, that was absolutely beautiful. I have known Jesus all my life, I’m old enough to be your grandmother and you just delivered one of the most powerfully anointed and from the heart sermons I have ever heard. You were not standing behind a pulpit in a church building before a captured live congregation but..exactly where you were suppose to..under your oak tree with it’s green leaves sitting in your children’s swing doing your Fathers business. You, young woman, are a blessed gift from God. Not only to your family and friends, but to thousands of people you may or may not ever come to know. May God continue to Bless you, Jess, for being obedient❤️

Thank you, Jesus, for using Jess and for giving her the strength to be so vulnerable and obedient to Your leading. I’ve strayed from my trust in You, and maybe I’ve never surrendered to the fullness of that trust. I thank you, Father, for speaking to me tonight. You always know exactly what we need even if we don’t. I needed to hear Your words in this way. I NEEDED that moment when Jess was led to lean close and tell us her face was right there. In that moment, Father, I heard You speaking to me, I FELT it. And I needed it. I’m coming Home. I’m scared, I’m tired , I’m broken, and I’ve had a horrible attitude in my heart and spirit. But I’m coming Home. I’ve known for so long that I couldn’t do this thing called life without You, I just didn’t know how to come back. Now I realize I didn’t have to know how. I just needed to tell you I’m coming. You’ll show me how. I love You, Jesus. And I miss You.

Jess, I've listened to this again and again. You say something very prophetic that I don't think you even realize you are saying. Everytime you mention the leaves are green... this parable comes to my mind. “Now learn this parable from the fig tree: When its branch has already become tender and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near. So you also, when you see all these things, know that it is near-at the doors! Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place. Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away." Matthew 24:32-35 ❤

Yesterday was the first time of hearing about you. My mother watches your videos and made me sit down before going to work to watch you. I was about to miss everything you shared here, thinking of excuses why I had to hurry off to get to work/ telling my mom that I could listen to it on the way there. I am so grateful that I took that time in her living room to focus and listen to what you said. Something that stuck out to me was your mention that God will not let anything “block” his love flowing to me (may not have been your exact words, but close I think😉). I block his love from me, though. So I prayed about it. While watching your video I had left my phone in my car and it got overheated and had to cool down so I couldn’t use it immediately. I cooled it off with my air conditioner and when it finally came back on “coincidentally” my bible app came up automatically and the verse/direct words from God that I had been needing to hear was right there in front of me. Isaiah 41:13. Thank you for this video as it resonates with me in a divine manner. I am so grateful for you. Sorry about the novel I just wrote but yesterday something changed and it was powerful and you were part of it so I had to share it with you. ❤️

Oh my, Jess..as I'm wiping tears off my cheeks after answering my husband that I'm crying because you're praying for us all. Truth is, I've been watching you for some 2 + years, and recently, my husband mentioned that I should write you to let you know what an encouragement you are and have been. This is my third season gardening, as of right now have no idea where or how I'm going to get the soil I need to plant my tomatoes and the rest of my plants, but have been praying for His provision and I know it will come! The urgency you've been speaking about has been deeply felt in me, too. Trying to convince my husband to let us get chickens is an uphill battle, but we've tripled our garden space!! I bless and love you, back, Jess, and cannot WAIT to visit y'all's store when it opens!! Road trip is tentatively in the books!!( although with gas prices as they are, we may have to truly save for it...). You are not alone here, and are treasured and loved. Thank you. Press on toward the goal to win the prize of God’s heavenly calling in Christ Jesus!! WE'RE RUNNING WITH YOU! Philippians 3:14 BSB

I was half asleep when I heard your voice and thought I was dreaming. when I realized I wasn't, I listened intently to the rest, shared it and am listening again now and will play again when I have time to read through my bible while listening. I saved this to my watch later playlist to go back to it periodically. so yeah ‐ thank you. be safe. be well. and be blessed.

And sometimes The Lord uses a girl named Jess, to pray for us and help us hear the words we most needed to hear. There was no more important message I needed to hear, Jess. I've felt so unworthy and it has hindered my connection to God....it has weighed so heavily on my soul...but I hear his words through you. Thank you so much, from the bottom of my heart, Thank you. X

Your words touched me in such a visceral level. God has shown me the approaching storm in a dream. It was powerful and mighty, but my family was safe. Those corrupting our world and reveling in evil were not. God has led my husband and me to put in our first garden, get chickens, cut wood, can food, and much more. We had to dip into savings to purchase a lot of what was needed. One day recently, I was fretting over my savings account being smaller, and He whispered, “I AM your savings account.” He speaks to us all the time. We just have to talk and listen and find our rhythm with Him. He truly is a LIVING God.

Oh, woman of God! I Am so excited to be living in these times! I am 62 years old and love to meeting others that Worship our God, Yeshua, with Passion. Tho raised in a Christian home with Ministers for parents, I hit the rode at 17 to find out what was in the world, that I had been so sheltered from. On Sunday, December 7, 1986, at a small church in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, I ran to the alter and gave what was left of me to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He so lovingly took my fragile and very broken life and during all these years since that day, He is making something so beautiful of my life in Him. He went into the potters garbage heap, and took what was broken and impossible with man, and made me into a usable vessel in His Kingdom! Thank you for sharing this Word from the Lord with us. God Bless You!

I have just watched this for the second time. This time my husband watched with me. You looked directly at me in the video, and I felt your passion again. When it was over my husband said, I really like that young gal. She spoke the truth and her prayer was powerful. Then he asked me if I had written to you. It was huge for me to hear him say those things. I wanted you to know this and be encouraged. The honesty is, I love you back. It just felt too silly to maybe tell you that. I see you every day, but we have never actually met. I think now maybe you understand.

How can someone you’ve never met change the trajectory of your life, of your soul? Jess, I want to thank you. Thank you for being bold. Thank you for being brave. Thank you for being a messenger. Thank you for being a beacon of light and hope in a time of darkness. Thank you for planting a seed of hope and love in the hearts of so many. I have been following you for a few years now. During that time, you have instilled a passion for gardening and the belief that despite others’ lack of confidence and opposition, I could actually grow food for my family. It has been a slow journey - from buying your first book, to ordering seed catalogs and over $100 work of seeds, to planting them and watching as my lack of experience and weather conditions beyond my control killed every single one of my little plants in my first garden, to going back to the drawing board and starting again. Your sweet, gentle, poetic vlogs have given me hope even when I was buried in a hole of grief, trauma, and pain. Like many others in recent years, I’ve felt lost. I gave my soul to Christ as a teen and He saved me from following through on ending my life during one of the darkest seasons of my life. I had so much fire! All I wanted or cared about was learning and sharing the Word. The truth. I felt His presence but I have stumbled, tripped, and taken what I thought would be shortcuts in my life’s journey. I lost focus and sight of Him. In recent years I barely remember the peace and hope I once had. I’ve wandered so far away from God, I was unsure if I’d ever make it back... or that He would even want me back, for that matter. I’ve been in the world so long that I’ve become confused, and disoriented - not knowing truth from evil lies. Once again, I found myself so overwhelmed with anxiety, hopelessness, and now a new and unfamiliar dislike for the human race. I hate what we’ve done to our planet, soil, bodies, and souls. I hate that people are so rude, cruel, and selfish. I know that is a strong word but it is truly how I’ve felt… until today. I asked God for a sign. I asked Him to please let me know that I’m not foolish for turning to Him (because the world has tried to convince me that even if there was a God, why would he care about me?) Your devotional this morning confirmed that for me. I felt like you were speaking directly to me. You have a beautiful way of connecting with us. I cried! I prayed! I rejoiced! Thank you for being vulnerable and obedient to the Lord, Jess. I heard what I needed to hear! The prodigal son is a special story for me. I have been so foolish thinking I could live in this world without relying on our Father. I have so much shame. How could someone who had such a strong connection with God at one-time wonder so far off track? I’ve been so lost and hopeless! I know God has great things planned for my life, otherwise, the Devil wouldn’t constantly repeat these lies. You have graciously given me hope for our future, for our children’s future, and the ability to forgive myself for my constant failures. We may never meet face to face but just know you have been a friend when I had no one. Thank you, Jess. I bless you!!! Leah

It’s so out of character for me to watch your devotionals, as much as I love your content. To say I have religious trauma is a bit of an understatement. Growing up a closet lesbian in a very religious (7th day Adventist’s) family I have negative trust in organized religion. Even as I grew up and away from my family I still have always had a knee jerk reaction to anyone religious. Unfortunately, I’ve been in a place of mind where if I’m a bigot about any group of ppl, it’d be religious ppl. Watching your channel has been indescribably healing for me in terms of my ability to trust religious people. It’s been a constant reminder that not all religious people are trying to convert me or change me or “save me”. Your blessing at the end of your videos makes me smile instead of feel defensive. And that’s a big step for me. I know I’m just a stranger and you’re prob being inundated with comments on this one about religion but idk. You’re a weirdly huge part of my daily life and I just wanted to share the affect you’ve had. I’ll never be religious, I’ll never want to go to church, I’ll never pray and all that. But I love what you said about how it doesn’t matter how you label the color of the trees, the color is still there. And that’s okay.

I watched one of your videos back in March or April and you said something that spoke to me so much that I wrote it down. You said "Urgency does not always mean fear- sometimes it's just the prompting that says 'hey, it's time to move' ". I'm proud to say that my husband and I bought a house on an acre and will be moving our family in the next few weeks. Whew! That was well done my sister. A word of encouragement about looking at how WWII people survived shortages. Look beyond the war years. Those folks had been through the depression. They learned how to do without then not because there were shortages but because they didn’t have money or jobs. They have a lot to teach us us. Back to your “devotion.” ( I might call it a testimony or even a sermon - whatever). It was beautifully done and heartfelt. And will be received by many as oil on their troubled souls. I describe it differently but I really enjoyed listening to your words this morning. I think all of humanity needs to listen to the world around them and really hear. We need to take care of the earth and that begins with taking care of each other and realizing that we are all a part of the same thing. We are all a part of the earth. For so long people have become invested in themselves and no one else. Instead of loving everyone, they decide to hate those who appear different from the outside. But we are all the same. I have been feeling the desire to grow food and move and speak. You helped me see that I need to trust that feeling. Thank you. I hope others watch this video and gain insight into their own lives. All is not lost but it does require people to listen. I have gotten there a different way but if you reach even one person this way; if you convince one person to rethink their life; to stop and listen; to look at another person with love instead of hate, I will be so glad. It will be one drop. One drop that can turn into many. Thank you for your videos.

Lovely devotoinal Jess! I love hearing you use the Hebrew words for some of the bibical stuff. I noticed you quoted the verse about him Being a jealous God and thought you would like this fun fact. In the ancient Hebrew the word we translated as jealous actually means more like the protection a mother bird has over its baby's; the type of protection out of pure love. Its much deeper than our modern meaning of jealous.

It all settled down for me when I expanded my garden in 2020. Gave me a break and some peace. Now it all stirred back up a few months ago with unsettlement and dreams every night all night. I do not have anyone to talk to about this who understands and it makes my husband nervous because he doesn't understand. When I have tried to get it all off my shoulders people see me as dramatic or making it up. Part of me started wondering if I was at times. I am not a news watcher because I don't trust what any of them are saying and I know what's going on without surrounding myself with it. I know that I need to stay focussed and not get distracted so the news is not puting these things in my head. You don't know me or know anything about me, yet God has helped you reach me and let me know that I'm not alone. I don't know what's coming either or what I'm supposed to do to prepare, but I do know that the earth is stirring and we are being awakened to play our role in what is coming.

Hello dear. I just wanted to let you know you are definitely not alone! I am one that also believes in God's miraculous gifts to each one of us. Not just to those who believe in Him, but every soul ever born! We all have gifts. Learning to live and work and minister in those gifts is a life long journey. And the Holy Spirit is our guide. So only those who know Him are blessed to know who they are in Him. God's blessings dear, keep following His leading in all you do.👵😇

More and more I am picturing all of us at the throne praising God for all He will see us through. Like it says in Revelation, but in a really personal way. It brings me peace. We aren’t meant to be alone, but it can often feel that way in this life. I pray God shows you what you need to see to bring you that peace.

Jessica Sowards you took my butt to church tonight!!! I cried the entire video, especially when you said this video is for you, I totally felt that! I appreciate your sincere vulnerability with us all, you are so kind. And the way you pray is so mighty, I felt it in my soul. Thank you so much for sharing that devotional with us.

I am not Christian, but I honor you, and your blessed heart. I honor the love behind this message, and the strength with which you’ve been lead to share your heart. Never fear to share your message, and your truth. Bless you, and your family, and all those who hear your words and are moved by them. Today and every day may all live in grace.

Everyone should share their truth. It will resonate with who it should. Jess is such a wonderful story teller and uses words so well, no matter whether they are Christian, Muslim, Jewish or even agnostic, they can take something away from her message.

God Bless you Jess, for your faith, courage and discernment...my favorite word. What struck me the most was when you said, you see God in all people....even the ones that hurt you, and you love them...a very powerful message!!! I heartily support all you said and will add that I believe repentance is a necessary part of the conversation with God. Taking personal responsibility for our sins, asking His forgiveness, and striving to sin no more are a way of humbling ourselves before our Heavenly Father...definitely not "groveling"....there's a big difference. I'm am so very thankful that the comments posted are in support of your words and intent, even from those who differ theologically. We are stronger when we love and support each other and stand together to face evil as one united group. God is great and his mercy endures forever.

Not many people speak of repentance but it’s absolutely necessary. So many miss this step.

"Separating church hurt from our living God." I just had one of those light bulb moments of realizing that I was NOT separating it. I am so thankful to have someone say something like that and for it to really hit my heart. Thank you.... And I used to be afraid to tell people what happened to me when the Lord talked to me...but now i share it. And more often than not, people don't judge me. :)

I have spent a few hours with a priest today about the path im on and Im at crossroads and dont know what to do. He started to give me advice and it hit me like a ton of bricks and soo clear as to what path I need to be on. And as I listen to your devotional tonight you have said some things word for word he said to me and you gave me confirmation as to what path I need to be on. Yes! Absolutely! I’ve been church hurt, and don’t identify as Christian at all but her devotionals touch my heart in a way I’ve never been able to feel in a “house of God” make me feel accepted and seen by the spirit, I cheer her on and share her heart and feel more bold in my efforts to build community and love and acceptance and a beacon to those around me that just doin the next right thing I feel in my heart and soul I was put here to do, that the pain and grief and trials and ugliness I have survived enabled me to see how to better help others come out of their own dark moments the way Jess has helped me in some of my darkest times. She and I may sit under the same tree of life guided by the same spirit who has many names across history and religions and the globe over eons and that no matter what we call that small place inside us that is divine and guided we are all sheltered and nourished by the same branches and the same leaves and one day when we all can as a humanity come together and enjoy the shelter of that space instead of battling for the land it grows from that we will all be better for it.

I just say I’m a follower of Yahweh, Jesus Christ . Just like Jess said, being church hurt affects us all differently. All I've been lead to do is to know that Yahweh wants us to love each other no matter if someone else chooses to not follow that teaching and also to forgive. Sure, there is heart ache, confusion and disappointment and sometimes real anger , but eventually, if you seek Him, that still small voice will guide us to His truth and heal our heart and teach us to not allow that to affect us that way again. I prefer to pray for those who feel the need to correct or hurt us. We’re to love one another as we love ourselves. I know it took me a long time to feel like I could love myself, but through God’s Grace He taught me to. Now my kids tell me I never meet a stranger. Or my favourite is when I’m running into the store for just a few things, before we even leave the car, the kids will say “okay Mom….we want to go in and out, please don’t talk to anybody!”🤣😂I say we’re just getting less than ten things. To which they respond, “yeah but you know how it goes, God always has you talk to SOMEONE!” I just smile and tell Yahweh to “use me if there’s someone that needs to hear about you.” I’ve learned to make four lists, one for me and one for each of the children. They’re all in high school or college. It’s much more efficient that way. In and out….except they find me talking to someone and giving them some recommended reading. All at once 8 eyes disappear in their heads. Sometimes we need to get love and acceptance from Yahweh somewhere other than church, because of our experiences. God will give those people ears to hear and eyes to see. Then my kiddos crack jokes all the way home about Momma trying to save the world. I say, "No, that would be Yahweh, kids”. Then silence the rest of the way home.😆🙃
