The "ancestor" Fan chart is nice, but a "descendant" Fan chart would be incredible.

The charting software 'Charting Companion' includes both ascendant and descendant fan charts.

Looking good. I teach beginners, so have RM7, Legacy9, Heredis2020, and an old FTMkr as well on my computer. There are some things I definitely prefer on RM such as some of the charts, the index list always available, etc. I'm looking forward to the new version coming out. No rush. :)

I am new to finding a tree maker application. Currently have online trees on Ancestry and My Heritage but neither have, maybe because they are online, a good descendants report. I don't want boxes, fan charts, bowties but a line down type record.Does Root magic have a good line type down chart? Also can one transfer info from Ancestry or MHeritage to Root magic tree??

VERY much looking forward to Version 8. I do have a question...what is the difference between a Source and a Citation? Sources have always been a problem for me.

Wonderful job! I am wondering if there will be a family view that shows all the birth/death dates & places of the children on one page as seen in the traditional family view. Having the full picture for a family unit is helpful to see at a glance if there are gaps or incomplete information to be found (such as incomplete or missing dates and places). The children's birth places in one view gives a sense of where the family lived over the years (and is useful to check to make sure there is a known reason for any differences). Seeing their death places in one view shows at a glance where each child ended up--whether they moved away or stayed in their home town. When a child has a birth date discrepancy in records, seeing all the siblings' birth dates in one view helps to eliminate dates that are impossible (such as dates that are six months before or after a sibling's birth), and seeing all the birth dates in one view can help in determining a likely time frame for the birth of a child who died in infancy for whom no dates are known. The functionality is looking great , I’m hoping next to the find anywhere in the top bar that is a paint palette that let’s you change the design because the green, orange and taupe is not doing anything for me.

It would be really nice if you could either export the results of a search into a spreadsheet. Or even just be able to filter or sort a list by different facts. For example, I'd like to sort the results of my search of people born before 1950 who died after 1950 by birth place. Then I can look in those states for their names on the 1950 census. So far I can't figure out a way to do this. I'd also like to be able to add them all to a list from the search window. Is there a way to quickly do this or do you have to add them one by one?

I got confused when you talk about the RootsMagic 7 . I think that you should not talk about the old system. This is my first time getting RootsMagic8.

I just purchased RM8. Where do I find Wall Charts ? Seem to have moved.

In RM8, will we be able to store our exhibits folder on Dropbox or Google Drive and then insert media from there into the person view? Right now, only files on our disk or a scanner can be.

Excited about RootsMagic 8 but have a question. Will we still be able to create website files? In Version 7 we could still create files according to previous versions. Will that option still be in Version 8?

Is there a way to people search for all the parents of (descendants, who are not direct ancestors, of ancestors ) and then select them all to color them a certain color? And likewise other relationships?

Wall chart capabilities in version 7 were MUCH better than in version 8. BIG step down. Wish I could open 8 in 7 and still have photos. Terrible change.
