Well done Jackson. I'm looking forward to seeing queries. I find them intimidating and would LOVE to feel comfortable creating them for myself rather than trying to find someone else's query that is sort of kind of like what I want.

That's my problem as well. Bit of a fearty! Even though I have used FH from v2, I have relied upon it to provide some structure to my data, rather than an all singing, dancing report writer. Due to my intermittent use, even though there is structure, the consistency of that data within the structure is somewhat variable! I like Jackson's approach to media data entry. Good health, BillR

tip -- you can start by combining queries -- taking the rows/cols from different queries to build the query you want and need. Even if you have used other query language such as SQL -- the syntax of the FH looks intimidating

Unfortunately I bought 9 and I cannot find this display. In fact, I'm less than impressed with how limited my viewing screens are. I don't use full screen because I have to watch tutorials like this to learn this program.

Really enjoyed this video...wondering how I get the Family as Child and MMN columns to show up - I can't see to find them when I go into the Configure Columns module...How did you get them?

Teresa, I modified the All Individuals query to my own preferences and loaded the Records Window from that query. My plan is to cover this in the next video so hopefully not too long to wait.

I have had Ancestral Quest mentioned before by another user and I believe it has many good features but I do not own a copy. Really I should watch some videos myself to become more familiar, I live in the hope that ONE program will evolve to cover all logical genealogy research needs intuitively and quickly.

If you don't mind my asking what is the Delme field and its use.

It's a custom fact I used for temporary data, in this case the mother's maiden name from the GRO website. The DelMe was simply a name to remind me to eventually delete that data once I had finished using it.

@@GenealogySoftware Thanks for the Delme idea. Along with that I've working on my FH7 family tree and find a lot of time I need to make a quick note referring back to a specific event/fact such birth date I got of Ancestry. With out some hints or records that prove the date I need to know which events/facts I need to go back and do some work on. Is there any "quick note method in FH7 or similar t you Delme me that you use?

@@woodturner1954 Curt, go to the Help File and search for "Research Note" and read up on those which are new to FH7. I think Simon Orde did a mention in one of the Whats New in Family Historian videos, it's nice that you can link to all sorts of items from within the Research Note.
