I would have liked more explanation and an example shown of what you can do with Word. This part of the Publisher video was too rushed. I have written a number of historical and geographical items in both Word and Excel which I want to include in my book and would like the specifics in the Index and endnotes etc.

Why have such an antiquated function as a book function? Nobody reads books today. What the program needs is a way to create dynamical web pages you can upload to your domain. Rootsmagic is getting more and more behind the times which is why i am looking to switch to a more modern program.

Boy, are you wrong!! You must not have many relatives that are interested in your family. Also, books published on paper (which you can do from PDF files or Word documents) last longer than the digital files. BTW, you won't find a more modern program than RM9. This book function is one of the best additions to the RM9 upgrade. Thank you, Bruce, for making it possible. There are limitations to the length of a book that Microsoft Word can produce, but am not sure about pdf.

MyRootsMagic basically creates update to the HTML dynamically so that is covered. The Book function should have more options to batch add people and items that would make it less tedious for larger book projected. Since the book can be PDF etc -- it does not have to be in hard copy form
