Saint Paisios said something similar to the "holy shrug", roughly: "thoughts are like airplanes - they are only yours if you invite them to land, so just wave as they go by".

Saints are very wise. However this wasn't original and I'm sure he learned it from his spiritual father. When your spiritual father teaches you something profound, don't keep it a secret but pass it on to your godchildren. That way all generations will grow in wisdom.

“You cannot prevent birds from flying over your head, but you can prevent them from building a nest in your hair.” He also likened thoughts to airplanes: “Thoughts are like airplanes flying in the air. I like praying when I walk. I take one step and say :"Lord".. Next step :"Jesus"... Next step :"Christ"... Next step:"have"... Next step:"mercy"... Next step :"on me"... Next step:"a sinner"... Next step, I start over again... Sometimes, while walking, whatever neighbourhood I pass by I say :"God, bless, protect, forgive, save the people - alive or dead-who live, lived or will live in this area"...... The greatest trick the devil ever performed was/is convincing human beings that he does not exist. I am greatly comforted by The Holy Spirit; speaking through Fr. Paul. I went through two episodes in my teen years/early 30s when I thought that rock/heavy metal music was beneficial & used to defend it/thought people were “crazy Christians” for exposing it for what it is. I used to listen to at least two groups regularly who had symbols designed/assigned to each member of the band. I used to think; oh, that’s just “art.” I was woefully ignorant. Big label bands in knowledge or in ignorance have aligned themselves with demonic forces. No ifs and or buts about it. I stopped listening to that refuse & entered into Holy Orthodoxy. The confusion, the poltergeist activity stopped in my life/my home. Glory to God, though; that darkness was needed for my willingness/departure from the wrong road…

Demons are actually Directed Energy that has been weaponized for eons, and the formations of alchemy. From technocratic and particalized weaponry; elemental engineering that was and still is hidden and obscured from mankind. Social media is full of demonic stuff. After praying for a while after a long time I started to notice things. There are always posts that are meant to trigger an emotional response. "Buy this! Get outraged by that! , Look at this woman!, That person has something that you don't, you want that too! etc." Sometimes after I stop scrolling I realize how tired I feel from being assaulted with so many suggestions and distractions. But prayer always soothes the heart and mind.

I’ve had a couple of incidents like this when I lived in the Republic of Georgia. This was before I converted to Orthodoxy from Lutheranism, but when I saw these things, I immediately closed my eyes and started saying the Lord’s Prayer and the Apostles Creed. I was also given a prayer bracelet from a church there and then slept with that on almost every night for a few weeks. Prayer and wearing the bracelet truly helped!

God brought me to Orthodoxy a couple years ago, and what He’s been doing in my life is so beautiful and undeniably divine. It’s like a flower that keeps on opening, more and more lovely, and never wilts. That is how His work feels to me. But especially since my chrismation, I’ve experienced a greater degree of demonic interference. Everything going wrong before church or an event where God is moving, weird maladies, attacks on mood and motivation, disharmony with someone at the worst times. All this can and does happen without any help from the dark side. But there is just a different flavor when they are messing with you. All my life, I have occasionally seen, heard, and felt both holy and unholy spirits. But I think it is scarier when demons are subtle, when they make you believe lies because they align so well with your own pain and insecurities. The other day, I realized I had been deceived for years into forgoing a path God is pointing me to. The lie had become my truth, part of me. But God is breaking strongholds. Praise God, He always protects me and always brings good from bad. I am seeing more miracles than ever. May He bless you all ❤

“We have to learn to fall in love. And it doesn’t take effort. It takes a real learning about what the heart is really yearning for.” Wow, this was a beautiful and perfect way of describing that! I also began to learn this when I realized the pain from my childhood trauma was keeping me from being able to love the way I desired to. I had to learn how to give these things to Jesus which is a part of the process of falling in love, at least I believe so. My Romanian wife was such a fan of the idea of being a demon. She performed witchcraft. She hand drew tremendous drawings however they were mostly pornographic in nature. She loved horror and listening to serial killer documentaries etc and it showed. She was very violent and said some unholy things. Lust made me a bit blind for she was very beautiful but I always had this hope that one day she will wake up and be a good natured person instead of hating all of humanity. To me she still has a good soul. I know that she is better now and that gives me a little peace. I don't blame her for turning to that way of thinking because she was forced at 15 to go to a private Christian high school here in the states fresh off the boat. The ridicule and hate she experienced from a particular group of Christian kids calling her devil or black sheep became her whole identity. Even her family from a very early age said she was the spawn of Satan because of her mother's actions which is not fair. All of that negative energy and karma directed at her manifested and grew ugly until she beat my head in full force with her fist to my right side temple and we ended our marriage. I could tell she felt awful about what she did giving me permanent brain damage and no amount of apologizing would fix the tension between us. I still loved her even after we almost died cause it happened in the car over an argument. I confess this and ask forgiveness for not being able to control my words and anger while we struggled to start a life together. I ask God that she will be happy and safe for many years. I pray to find peace in my mind some day. It is much better now that I found Christ. I thank the love of my life for all the good times. I do not see myself to ever love another as much as I did her. If she did not do the demonic things she did I would not have turned to God for answers and help. Mulțumesc Doamne că m-ai salvat. Amin.

I understand. But make the sign of the Cross, pray The Jesus Prayer. Align your nous with the love and power of Christ. Know that He has conquered death and Hell, because greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world. "In faith and love draw near" to the lover of your soul, yielding your fear to His love. It'll be fine. He made it so. And of course, use common sense in situations. I hope this helps a little.

Demons only physically appear to or even attack people as a last resort. Demons do not necessarily want to physically hurt or kill you, they want to make sure you go to hell with them. They do this by temptations, sin, passions, unrepentance, etc. For example, Saint Moses the Black was pushed into a well by demons because they realised he stopped sinning and could not even be tempted. If you are still afraid of demons physically appearing to you, always remember the sign of the cross and the Holy Name of Jesus Christ, because when these are invoked, demons tremble in fear and scatter.

Sometimes when I am alone my mind makes me remember times when I went through either rejection or trauma, then I start feeling like I am going down I feel pressure in my ears, then I hear "no one cares about you, you should ki ll your self" it takes my breath away I start coughing and sweating. I know it's not my own thinking because It doesn't match my heart! And I have 100% forgiven everyone deeply, and I have forgiven myself. Then I put music on praising Jesus, and I feel light and joyful. I can't stop looking at the trees and flower, how bright and beautiful they are. I say out loud your time is up, and I laugh. I sing a song jesus jesus, you are my number 1 guy, mother, mother mary you are my number 1 mother. I'm not afraid!

Everything has been given to us so we can use it, but not everything is of the use to us. What I like to do is think if something makes me sin, if it makes me lazy, and so on, that's when I will take a step back and consider ridding myself of that thing. So I think a lot of things are depending on the context, for a lot of things we can't just say "Well this is bad because it's secular", it depends on how we use it, and what effect it has on us. And also, does something or someone try to attack Christianity, especially if it's obvious. Like recently it has been with Monster Energy drinks. I was really big fan of their energy drinks, great flavors, and everything, but recently they put out a monster drink with a woman on the front of a can, and she was holding an apple, the flavor is called "Bad Apple", and on the back there is a part that says "Forget regular apple, bad apple is so good it's almost worth getting kicked out of Eden for", and that's when I drew a line and stopped buying monster drinks. So first we should observe if something makes us sin, and if it directly attacks Christ and Christianity. As for movies and similar media that sometimes have some unholy sign, I think it's not always on purpose, cause sometimes authors will see the same sign somewhere else, in some other culture and they will think it will look cool and they don't think much about it. It's like if you watched the anime "Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood", they do use pentagrams and things like that, however, if you look past that, you will see there is actually a good message there, they are fighting for their friends and family, they help people even when they don't get anything in return, they fight against evil which are literally seven deadly sins, and ultimately they sacrifice themselves or parts of them for the greater good. Also in the beginning of the show, we can see what happens when you try to do something that is against the will of God when they tried to revive their mother and they lost their bodies or parts of their bodies. So we should always look at the broader picture, and as long as we don't make idols, and as long as Christ is our actual goal and we are trying to be Christ-like, we will be fine.

In reference to music, my nephew used to listen to rock music and h told his mother, one day that it was as if God opened his eyes, he was able to listen to demonic voices and even the celebration of the s9crifice of children. I believe you can hear that if you play the song backwards or something like that. Even christian music has become to pagan.

This kind of activity happened in the past and it seemed to be connected to my daughter’s sexual assault by a classmate. I prayed one night quietly alone in my room. Not even aloud. The next morning my 3yo said “mom, the rainbow man was here last night and got rid of all the monsters. Look! See them (he points to the edge of our property)! They can’t get in anymore!” Within days, the boy that committed the assault almost came to my home office for homeopathic care without knowing I was the mother of the girl he harmed. His mother tried to make the appt and told me he was hearing voices, losing weight rapidly and needed help. I referred her elsewhere because I knew it was demonic. Fast forward 5 years, this now young man recently committed suicide and we have suddenly had similar activity in our new home. I asked my daughter if she’s had any contact with him because I knew it was from him. That’s when I found out he killed himself and my daughter has been having dreams of him nightly. I just burnt sage and prayed for Jesus to remove them.

I wish I had watched these orthodox teachings, I would have had a different 'christian' walk and I would be well today. Sin abounded in my life everywhere and I was completely deluded that I ever was a christian. I am now at the behest of every dark force which is spoken about here. God has handed me over due to my terrible sin and hypocrasy. I know I am going to die the most horrible death of any man as Jesus has turned his face away and turned me over to dark forces which will reveal themselves. I alligned myslef with darkness constantly. I have been struck with Fatal Insomnia and it is a judgement from God.

Jesus Christ is the Son of God and he is a God of love and mercy. You must be thinking of a punishing and unforgiving entity to feel so lost and powerless. Stretch out your hands, open your soul and cry out the powerful name of Jesus. Profess your love for him and place your suffering into his merciful and loving heart with child-like trust and you will be saved even if your illness doesn't heal. You were created in the image of God...hold on and don't let go... NEVER let the DARKNESS win...fix your eyes on the light of Christ, his blessed mother, and all his angels and saints. I will pray for you even if my prayers are not perfect. God bless and keep you.🙏🙏🙏

I had this very wierd encounter while walking going to see a family friend, there was a oval and a path i tended to remain on the nartow path and walk forward, the thoughts i had as i walked past someone that evening had me feeling some type of way that i was walking into battle while the person infeont of me already came from battle, we slightly glimsed at each other and i continued to walk, that day was something else i actually fealt like i was battling something higher force i couldnt see. I had encounter with it and dealt with it when i got home, i honestly fealt like one door opened while another was shut for good. I happened to pray and continue to ask the lord why it was me going into battle. I soon then started to write what i fealt at the time, i ended up recieving heavinly downloads and kept my sanity within myself to know what was happning, it was frightning and true all in one, i managed to get through that dark phase of self ego and all the bs that goes with it. Still i ask myself what it was and ive got the answers now for it

what is said in the vid is spot on, in my experience. i find first off, something that I willfully expose myself to during the day seems to open me up to spiritual attacks. shut the open doors and windows, spiritually speaking. look around for those open doors if you don't know what to stop. when i know my heart is right with the Lord in all the ways I know of, I can still be harassed, but its not common. since we do have authority over the devils, through Christ, when I take authority over the power of darkness, with words, and not allow it in my house, and I ask the hosts of Heaven to stand guard over me and decimate the powers of darkness that try to enter my premises, that try to influence me, that try to harras me, in Jesus name, I don't get harassed. through Christ, we have authority over the devils. If we don't exercise our authority, the devils are gonna try and get away with whatever they can

I say this admittedly being a baby Christian, but what I've heard is that, for a Christian, any oppression, difficulty, negativity, etc., is meant for the glorification of Christ. Meaning, nothing happens without God's permission, and it all ultimately points towards Him. So, I would say, take courage, and know that Christ is doing all things for His will, for the love of you, and to bring all closer to Him; He is using every last bit of your soul for His glory.

I totally agree with you when you said don’t stop your additions right away because that makes a person freak out. Myself personally I never thought that way either that makes more sense. As a person who was born to a Christian family , I’ve seen a lot of advice that’s been so harsh, especially for people that are not Christian hearing that must freak them out. Most people love God, but they don’t pray for wisdom the wisdom to teach others in the most effective way

What makes me really mad is the fact that the church overlooks the the simple idea that it’s okay that the Devil is allowed to exercise unseen powers over us and we have to suffer through it and keep going to God for help. Help that is not immediate by the way. We suffer from both good and evil. How interesting…

The biggest influence to push me into faith in Jesus Christ, was interestingly, the music of Jerry Garcia and the Grateful Dead. I heard the song “Gomorrah” and really liked it, but didn’t know what it was about and discovered it’s a story from the Bible. I listened to “Samson and Delilah” same thing and so on and so forth until I realized the majority of there lyrical content is directly linked to the Bible and that in order to better understand this music I love, I need to first read the Bible in it’s entirety. I don’t worship the band, or Jerry Garcia. I see them nothing more than a vehicle, pointing to something much more important. Jesus Christ. That being said, I will always love their music and feel a direct connection to God whenever I listen to it.

16:12 this is so true. I can barely stand watching so much of the content I loved watching /listening to while growing up.
