It is unfortunate for this man I think the Police should take him to court so he can be discharged and acquitted. This is because in criminal litigation, he could be guilty of the guilty act which is actus reus but the mens rea must be established which makes him a victim of circumstance. in the he had always hoped to become a police officer but this was preyed upon by a notorious thief. The Police should be able to get the ASP who provided him with the uniform. Remember a thief knows the footsteps of a thief. Nigerian Police over to you. Where is the ASP? If you cannot find the ASP then release the man.
