ROPE Chain UPGRADE

I was a few steps into this custom barrel or cylinder lock for Arturo when I thought to pick up the camera and film an informative video for you guys. I get a lot of requests on these type of locks so I wanted to give a behind the scenes look. This one is made for a 6MM rope chain. Final length on this rope chain was 18 inch so I had to plan accordingly. Adding a lock like this is a luxury to any gold chain and usually costs more to do so. This video shows step by step on how a lock like this is made and put on a beautiful 6MM rope chain. Everything is 14kt gold.

Large production I have a manufacturing team. I’ve outgrown that position. Also, I’m not as skilled as my polisher and he’s not as good at what I do. Best way to succeed is to let others do what they’re best at and work as a team. No egos, we all want the best product possible and that’s from making a mold all the way to a satisfied customer when they receive their merchandise.

It does but anything 22kt is soft. You’d have to use lesser purity for the tongue and safety latches.

Is a barrel clasp better than a lobster clasp? I have always thought lobster clasps were easier to put your chain on without looking in a mirror. Did not really know anything about barrel clasps until I watched this video. This is education for me. Thank you.

if it takes hours to make..wouldn't it be cheaper to order the from a single supplier. I assume you have a bill rate of at least $100/hr (covering overheard, insurance) and right there that's 300 in labor...never mind gold...for the lock. That def turned me off from going that route.
