Many days a 93 under foot is great at snowbird. But yeah if you go on a day with big powder I would recommend renting a powder ski at a shop or even at the resort. I mean buying is awesome as well but kinda expensive and ROI depends a bit on how many powder days you get

Good to see another old timer here. Do you have an opinion hip-check ''face shots''. Cheers.
@garypoyntz694810 ай бұрын
Peter have to say never really hip checked, at least not intentionally. Just jumped in and started cranking short turns as soon as I could to control my speed. Maybe our narrow ski's of the early 70's slowed us up as we certainly did not float like modern ski's do today. My ski's where Rossignol ROC SM550's I believe, Rossignol's top GS ski which I think had a 66mm waist. Being a ski bum in those days we waited for no one! Lovely to see Lucas enjoying the powder. @@PeterDavis-nj5tc

@@garypoyntz6948 I hear ya Gary. There was nothing like pushing the tips down the fall line on serious pow day at AltaBird, fresh snow boiling up in front of you til it blows into your face and over the shoulders. It can still be done on todays skis, you just need to keep on the front/tips to get that pow build-up. My experience, your mileage may vary. Cheers.
@LucasCatania1710 ай бұрын
There’s no right or wrong way to ski in my opinion. I do it to have fun and be outside. The term you’d be looking for rather than “hip check” is called a slash.

Is there an alternative to holding the camera at the end of your pole? It would be cool if the camera could be mounted on, say, a rig attached to your helmet with the camera in a similar location in front of you, so that you could be free to plant both poles.
