I got hawk heliums and the ones I got came with a strap that was daisy chained, I never felt like I could get my stick tight enough and even had a slip that scared me partly because of that. I added a ratchet to mine but I do hate the noise and weight. Your tip on turning the stick sideways against the tree when finding the daisy chain is going to be a real life saver!! That’s a hot tip!
@bricehale6593 Жыл бұрын
I got the same ones that Daisy chain strap that it came with is a pain in the ass I would highly recommend buying some rope and making the rope mod. It's the fastest and easiest weightless quiet way an gets it tight to the tree right where u put the stick for the most part

Great video, if I can add a method to this for the DIY crowd. Add Cam cleats (rope anchor) and amsteel rope is the fastest and most secure way I’ve found. It absolutely locks the step to the tree, and when your taking it off the tree you just pull the rope out of the cleat. Just make sure you get cleats that have 400 pound breaking weight. Just mount the cleat below the exist connection point for the rope.
@HuntingFarmerOfficial2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! That’s on my to-do list! Which brand cleat did you use? Did you use 3/16 amsteel? Full bury?

Hunting on public land, I see straps really easily. The amsteel is less visible. Positive, if you don't want someone pimping your stand location, a negative if you lose the way to your stand and are trying to find it... First I've heard of this rope. Gonna look it up. Good video like the thoughts.

Could you do a rope mod using amsteel rather than the static climbing rope? I have the Hawk Helium 20" with the factory daisy chain straps and looking to switch to a rope mod.
@HuntingFarmerOfficial2 жыл бұрын
You could use amsteel daisy chain but the amsteel won’t work to simply wrap it around the versa button like you can do with rope because it won’t pinch tight on itself

I picked up the Run & Gun Helium Ultra-Light hang on treestand and 4 pack of 20" Helium sticks for $209 from Midway. The sticks came from the factory with daisy chain stitched versa straps (exactly like the Tethrd ones) with shock cord loops at the ends. I was surprised because I was expecting straps with buckles. I actually like the straps better than my amsteel whoopsie daisys! They're super light, store on the sticks well, and grip the tree without a lot of sag. If the hole on the strap doesn't line up with the versa button, I give it a few twists and I'm good to go. Anyone else getting daisy chain style straps instead of plain straps with buckles from the factory from Hawk?
@HuntingFarmerOfficial3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! That’s interesting. I hadn’t heard any coming from the factory with amsteel. I’ll be interested to hear if others have had the same experience.
@zulu5oscar7653 жыл бұрын
@@HuntingFarmerOfficialEnjoyed your video. The sticks didn't come with amsteel, but light daisy chain straps that resemble the look of the Tethrd versa straps. Not sure of the material. They weigh 1.8oz each. I already owned the amsteel whoopsie daisys (1oz each), but they sag alot more than the straps with only saving 3.2 oz total.
@HuntingFarmerOfficial3 жыл бұрын
@@zulu5oscar765 sorry, now o understand what you mean. That must be the newest style! So there’s no buckle at all, just the strap with loops all along it?
@zulu5oscar7653 жыл бұрын
@@HuntingFarmerOfficialNo worries...yep, just daisy chain straps, they work well though. I don't know if that's what people are getting if they just buy the sticks now. They may just come with the treestand combo. But for $209...4 sticks and a light hang on with a well padded seat, can't beat it! Good luck hunting this year. Thanks again for the video.
