People seem to forget this guy's an actor. He is paid to play someone he's not. Many actors who played existing characters were not experts in that specific topic: as long as they play the part well and look convincing, it doesn't matter that much whether they know everything about the topic, as that's not something you'll see on screen anyway. Of course it's good to know that they respect the original source, and that they try to understand it... which might not be the case here, but it seems that Rory did his best to play the part anyway. And he deffo wasn't the biggest problem in the film...

I seriously don't see what everybody's problems are with this movie....I mean one of the things maybe I could think of was just how some of the characters were misconstrued compared to the actual people the actors were portraying....but I thought the film was moving....and was interesting I def enjoyed it and I'm not even a fan of Mayhem or Black Metal I'm more into what they supposedly hated Death Metal especially the band (Death) that's my fav band but regardless I thought it was a good watch!!

Eurynomos is mentioned in the Satanic Bible, where the name is misspelled as "Euronymous". In Greek mythology, Eurynomos was the netherworld daimon (lesser god-spirit) of rotting corpses dwelling in the Underworld. Eurynomos is either a minor figure whose associated literature is lost to time, or possibly an invention by the painter Polygnotos. The sole piece of evidence concerning him is the following paragraph by Pausanias: [In a painting of Hades by Polygnotos at Delphoi, Phocis]: Eurynomos, said by the Delphian guides to be one of the daimones of Hades, who eats off all the flesh of the corpses, leaving only their bones. But Homer’s Odyssey, the poem called the Minyad, and the Returns, although they tell of Hades and its horrors, know of no daimon called Eurynomos. However, I will describe what he is like and his attitude in the painting. He is of a colour between blue and black, like that of meat flies; he is showing his teeth and is seated, and under him is spread a vulture’s skin.

In reality he is by no means a nazi or a satanist. Sure, maybe some metalheads take black metal way too seriously, but they do indeed have the right to be pissed off when a movie misrepresents their idols so badly. Then one night I was camping outside in the forest and it was a full moon and for some reason that main riff was stuck in my head all night and it all was made clear. im disappointed that after all the research he did, he thinks the way they promote themselves is what makes black metal black metal...black metal is a style of music. usual elements are: lo-fi production, fast tempos, screamed vocals (higher in pitch than your average death metal vocals), abundant in tremolo picking, and an emphasis on creating an atmosphere. black metal has nothing to do with the type of lyrics, the image or whatever. its a genre, and genres are styles of music, the way its played. has nothing to do with the culture built around it or the way its promoted or whether its satanic or not.

Well Black metal cand vary drastically; you can look at bands like Gorgoroth and see that deep voices are also used, or Immortal and see that standard production can be used. The lyrics in most BM songs base themselves around aspects of life and nature and it's abstract relation to the rest of the universe. Black Metal is both a genre and an art form. It is the antithesis of pop, the cry for music with deeper intent that to just sound good, but to also invite the listener to explore the deeper aspects of the metaphysical implications therein. In simpler words, Black Metal is about experementing with the human mind's perception of music, and to that extent simulate a sense of greater being through it, as illustrated by Varg and many other people within the genre. Just listen to Hvis lyset tar oss, Godseed and I am the Black Wizards and you'll see that the music aims to create an otherworldly atmospere and to that extent take the listener to a journey to a land much different from our own. Many of the lyrics in BM songs even reflect this through describing nature, feelings, and even time and place to paint an experience and thereby a story to the listener. BM is an art, it is a medium to be enjoyed in more ways than one, it is ultemately a philosophical statement on people and the world we interract with.

@@deidara_8598 "In simpler words, Black Metal is about experementing with the human mind's perception of music" lmao, no it's not. the majority of black metal doesn't experiment or push the boundaries of music. some bands do, but that has nothing to do with whether it's black metal or not. that was one of the most pretentious comments ive ever read btw, congrats. i tip my fedora to you.

Hollywood explanations of subcultures become so skewed. Black Metal = New Wave Of British Heavy Metal + Punk/Hardcore + Thrash Metal (which is also NWOBHM/Power Metal + Punk/Hardcore) + Death Metal (see Thrash Metal Brackets + Hardcore Punk) + "Occult Black Magic style" These days its come to a point that Black Metal range is very broad in extreme metal music, from thrash and crust to grind and shoegaze-influences. The most pure KVLT Black Metal has similar features to Crust Punk and Grindcore, yet characterized in a hyperspeed tempo and high octave shrieking rawness.

I swear Alot of times in that movie he Soo reminded me of like if McCauley Caulkin had a brother that was acting well and dressed up like a Black Metal kid from the late 80's early 90's lol
@danielblake15374 жыл бұрын
Holy shit now I look dumb asf hahaha I had NO IDEA that was actually a brother to him I just could of swore in my eyes, that's who he kept reminded me of but I went into watching this movie a couple days ago on my Firestick and didn't really have much backstory on the actors or even honestly much on the actual band I think I watched a small vid about( Death) killing himself and didn't even realize this was the band that was affiliated with that dumbass Varg guy who I had remembered seeing shit about him years ago just didn't realize they were connected until later on in the movie as I was watching it but lmao had no idea

I totally don't agree that The Godfather part 2 is better than part 1. I didn't really care for the Pacino stuff in part 2, just the stuff with DeNiro.

I hate that Rory resembles my ex so much. But I guess that's why I find him so attractive. LOC is an amazing film. Please keep making films Rory, you're fantastic.

Most black metal guys weren't exactly chick magnets. So I think that Euronymous's muscular forearm had more to do with the fact that he spent most nights with Rosie Palm and her five sisters than playing guitar.

He looks so much like Kieran. He's looks like Macauley too but Macauley is blonde and has a slight different look. The whole family are pretty much clones though.

Hollywood should do a movie about whatever happened to his brother to become a child with drug problems next time, they can even lie about it like they do on other "true events" based stories.

When he said the name Euroynomous was based on a demon, my mind always went to Heironymous Bosch lol
@kountesskorvinae6665 жыл бұрын
I love how y'all are bashing them for not knowing anything about black metal when all y'all are just trusting the Varg side of the story when these dudes are trusting Euronymous' family's side of the story. Which do you think would be more accurate? A dude who was clearly in the depths of some sort of delusional thinking at the time (which has been scientifically proven to alter memory formation) or the people who were consistently hovering around the outside of the scene paying for everything those boys did? The only part that was a lie was probably the hair cutting scene at the end and that was because the coroner lied to the parents why their son suddenly had short hair and they probably just filled in the blanks.
@Laulaupg5 жыл бұрын
Why would the coroner lie to the parents? I'm curious
