The 80s would not have been the same without Rory Dodd. He has such an outstanding voice. "Lost Boys and Golden Girls", "Rock and Roll Dreams Come Through", "Surf's Up" (especially the ending "and so am I...") are among my favorite songs ever. And all those incredible demos like "Vaults of Heaven", "A Kiss Is a Terrible Thing to Waste", "Loving You's A Dirty Job", "Making Love Out of Nothing At All"... - most of them better than the final versions. I wish we would have gotten the entire Steinman catalogue with Rory singing the songs.

his voice is so pure & beautiful. It will be forever remembered for this song. the perfect counter balance for Bonnies raspy power vocals. I wish they did a version where they reversed the vocal parts. I think that would be fun to hear. I do feel sorry for bonnies vocal chords having to sing these power vocal classics for 40 years. Holding out for a hero is another one that is brutal on the voice.
