i saw Rory open up for Deep Purple in 1973 when they were peaking with the release of "Made In Japan". Rory and the band blew the roof off the joint and drove the crowd into a near frenzy who insisted he come out for 2 encores and after the 2nd everyone including me were standing on our seats demanding more..as good as Purple were Rory made it difficult for them that night. before he hit the stage i did not know who Rory Gallagher was..the next day i went out and purchased everything i could find by him and was a fan for life.

The best of the best!! Lucky enough to see Rory live twice in Australia. What a phenomenal performer..not only a superbly talented guitarist, excellent vocalist but multi- instrumentalist as well. Still so deeply missed after all these years. Thanks so much for reacting to Rory. More please.

Sorely missed indeed. Just listening to other musicians, bona fide titans of music, speak about him in such glowing terms, is great. I am a fellow Cork man, and, you can't imagine the esteem in which he is held here.

Rory was one of a kind. This was the encore of a two hour show. Full Tilt Boogie. R.I.P. you were amazing.

Saw him in a small club in Cleveland, couple times in the 70's. He was amazing. Tickets were like 2 or 3 bucks.

Love seeing people react to Rory you made my day❤ if you want to go up to next level please review Shinkicker next or the softer side of Rory a million mile away. again thank you for doing this

Loved your reaction! Rory was a force of nature on stage with his usual performances running 2-3 hours ( or more). He lived to play live, preferring smaller venues so he could connect with his audience. We lost him in 1995 due to a MRSA infection following a successful liver transplant and the guitar you see in this video, his beloved Strat, just sold at auction for $1.16 million. Try checking out "Calling Card" 1976 Rockpalast and "I Wonder Who?" 1984 Belfast for his amazing blues artistry. Rory could play many styles but the blues is where his heart belonged.

This live concert performance is amazing for sure! If you get time check out his "Do You Read Me" from Rock Goes to College. At least as good maybe better for a live performance!
