Rory in his element, the Blues, pure and raw. He was absolutely oblivious about his health, not a surprise he was performing with a bad flu, but our man lived that way, happy in the music, inside it. A true born artist, he gave his life to the music, and he loved that. Respect.

You are right: "oblivious of his health "unfortunately, he sang this "walking blues" 6 years later in Lorient France when I looked at the show I was chocked I thought: he is dying! I wondered how anybody couldn't have helped him and saved his life...Music made him live just a few months more!

I knew Rory was a monster slide player but this just floors me. I always thought Ry Cooder was the tops but this is beyond brilliant. Rory was all musician. Born to do it, couldn't have done anything else. Everything is in place here, a real master class in how it's done. beautiful from start to finish.

Rory had music comes from his veins! A blues Prince, that's the best complement I can give him! Prince was great to, both died to young..

To riff on some Irish similes, the trip from Ry to Rory is sorta like Jesus to Lucifer, or Mother Mary to Eve in the garden... Both great. But different great.

@@benbarclay5546 another great slide player was Duane Allman listen to statesboro Blues, even the slide at end of Claptons song Laya, is tone perfect, thats Duane..

Around this time was made me and my friend discovered Rory by going through his dad’s record collection. It was the Irish Tour album and when I heard his version of As a crow flies I knew I was hooked for life.

Thanks so much for posting this. I saw him in February of 88 at the Olympia in Dublin. It was a sold out show but we broke in through a back alley and snuck through many tunnel-ways to see him. Will never forget it.

Great. Never seen this one before. Always thought Feltham should be in the same conversation as Little Walter, Sonny Boy Williams II and Paul Butterfield.

Hi Rory, thanks a lot for uploading this treasure !! But sad.....Rory all dressed in black. He said, he didn`t knew that he was famos for his checked shirts. So....at that time , he said, it was an expression of how he felt. But his voice here is so,so great !

Albert Stinnett ........... 1995. MRSA killed him. This is a deadly infection picked up in hospitals. It led to pneumonia . He 'd had a successful liver transplant weeks earlier .His brother , Donal , says that the concoction of prescribed drugs including paracetamol Rory took for anxiety and pain , were responsible largely for damaging the liver , rather than simply alcohol , ( a la George Best ). This is my understanding at the moment , July 2020 . Alcohol didn't kill him it was MRSA.........it killed my father also following a routine operation. It's important that the emphasis is rightly placed on MRSA .I do not know how rife it is currently but it certainly has been a real scourge .
