Every week my wife and I turn on PGA events, and every week we are asking “who the hell are these guys?”. No more big names week in and week out. If I wanted to watch Korn Ferry events, then I’d tune in to them. PGA better fix this crap soon or they will hemorrhage viewers and eventually fans.

Rory was a shiner from the start like many PGA players! I have never figured out why they all got so butt hurt about BUSINESS DECISION made by other professional golfers! The way the PGA ,Moynihan and named PGA golfers handled this made many of them look childish! The complaints about the PGA by many of the players that left for LIV have since been addressed with a much better agreement financially for the PGA players! They should bow and kiss the feet of the LIV golfers!

As I recall, Webb Simpson either resigned from the tour policy board or wanted to and planned to. Rory was apparently invited to take Webb’s place, which he accepted. But, apparently between Cantlay, Spieth, and possibly Tiger, there was push back on having Rory back. If I was Rory, I’d go full Vijay on them; no media interviews, and no care in what the PGAT does. Just sign up for tournaments, whip the pants off everyone, and remain a bit recluse. Or, go to LIV for a billion and disown the PGAT.

@oahujuniorgolfassociationc66566 ай бұрын
Rory and the Pga tour reminds me of michel Scott’s vasectomy : snip snap snip snap. I’m just amazed Jay talked to someone. He should get a raise. What you should have talked about is that Rory was added to a subcommittee to negotiate with pif after he was rejected from the board. So they think it’s wrong to let Rory back on board (without a full vote) but not wrong to let him do the most important job for the people on the board (negotiating). Got it. Makes total sense. Can’t wait to see what’s made up tomorrow.

Watching Damon Hack on golf central yesterday on this and basically imply you need to let the business men run the business of golf, not the golfers is exactly the sentiment that has diminished so many industry's; from boeing to yes, golf. I'd rather have rory making decisions on the future of the game over monahan any day of the week. These "businessmen" didn't build the industry, golfers did. It took live, not monahan et al to get ssg to come up with some additional cash - the players realize they're undervalued and have been played by management. On the other hand, rory's change of perception about PIF/PGA shows personal growth and a pragmatic real-world view. go rory.

@stefanmuller96536 ай бұрын
@@nbt3663 yep. I liked Rory a lot, until he decided to become the spokesperson for the PGA Tour against LIV. I mean how can you still defend and stand up for such an organization the way they acted but he still did it. Even after they did a 180. I believe he now realized what's going on, they don't care about him they are only in it for themselves as always. He is losing fans and respect, plus his game is suffering. I'm not so much a LIV fan, it's more that I can't stand the PGA Tour, Monahan and the total hyprocity and the pathetic way they threw their toys out the cot and started banning people as soon as they played on a new tour. Rooting for LIV now as it's so much fun to see the PGA Tour implode under its own doing.

@stefanmuller9653 yes. I was shocked years ago when Rory said it wasn't his job to grow the game. I get it, he plays for money, but that money is given by the fans ultimately. But then to see him actually be articulate even though I felt he was wrong, he seemed to mature. But anyway, the nonplaying fat cats using the players are a pathetic mess. And have made one bad decision after another. Totally a dumpster fire now!

I’m tired of all the back and forth between tours. The PGA Board is so hard core against LIV while Rory’s is somewhat softer. I think it would be interesting to see the acceptance by fans of a PGA vs LIV tournament with a Ryder Cup type format. However, I don’t think that the PGA will let that happen in spite of the revenue such an event would generate.

Greg Norman has turned the PG a tour into the minor leg of golf we're. He can get good players for the live tour.
@lesliegeddes78965 ай бұрын
You said that it was probably tough Rory to say he may have been wrong to not be more open to LIV golf. And probably a bitter pill to swallow. Regardless, I see nothing to admire about him reversing his stance. I lose all respect for the Players and the PGA entertaining the thought of letting this historic and quality sport be bought. As a longtime follower of golf, I am not interested in watching the LIV format at all. I much prefer the PGA tour maintain its independence and integrity. I want to watch the best golfers compete individually against the best golfers. The only team event I look forward to is the Ryder Cup.. with the team composed of members of the European or PGA tour.

That, and in unis that feature team names and the wearing of shorts. Sounds like college golf except that American universities play 72 hole events, meaning big boy, real, golf. Why'n hell we're even talking about this little boys' golf is crazy. Not a single friend I have who has ever tried watching them has ever returned to watching them. They get guaranteed millions, ok.
