Just a heads up on our intro...There is no GB&I. They used GB&I for the Ryder and Walker Cup before it became a European team. I's not a thing in terms of the Olympics or for anything else I can think of. Specifically Northern Irish people in specifically the UK part of the north of Ireland can choose to represent either but they represent Britain, not Ireland. Tommy is representing Britain, Rory is representing The Republic of Ireland. Like saying USA and Canada or Brazil and Peru. I know there was now offence meant, just an FYI.

There’s not everybody there it’s only a field of 60 and to get more countries there were a lot of lower rated players. Funny as it took Rory a long time to understand both Ryder cup & the Olympics - You don’t need 8 Signature events - take 4 signature events away and replace them with 4 events of 70 - 1/2 LIVs best players 1/2 PGA Tour best with OWGR points - straight up 72 holes no teams - and see what happens -

Nothing he said wasn’t correct. And he also didn’t have a go at anybody at all. I was team LIV because of the way the PGA handled it. Rory was just a pawn in that situation. IMO he made the wrong decision and had some shocking takes. But who doesn’t. You live you learn and move on. His opinion and his ideals change month to month. He was on the pga tour board he had the chance to impact some changes that were better for the overall game but he chose to slam the defectors to LIV. Then Rahm went to LIV and then he said we need him in the Ryder Cup and everyone should be more accepting. Its very easy to make these comments when you are playing in the events with the larger purses. The amount of money he has pocketed from the game allows him the luxury to do and say whatever he wants. I didn’t see him put up his hand and say “ whoa don’t raise the purses on certain events that I actually qualify for’. He flip flops way to much. Not sure why he should be the voice of golf or why his opinion really matters.

To me, Rory hasn't been enjoying his golf for a number of years, and well before LIV came along. He left the European Tour to join the USPGA tour because of money! Despite his success on that tour, he has failed to win a major for around 10 years. To me, he is mentally cooked. The USPGA have used him vs. LIV, he has now realised that. I suggest he jump ship and join LIV. That one single action may actually bring the two tours together.

For crying out loud, if you are going to use graphics to “quote” statements attributed to different people and you are going to read those statements, at least read the words that are quoted, not your version of what is said, you make such a mess of reading the person’s statement you almost change the meaning of what the statement was about. The fact is you are almost guilty of misquoting every time you read a statement. Either get more professional or use a voiceover to get it right. To give an example, the quote was “he was serenaded by the French crowds” not “he was surrounded by the French crowds”. And as for your sign off, I would hardly call this “breaking news”

The crowd is there but the atmosphere is not. Nobody is playing for anything. There’s no history. There’s no passion in any of their tournaments. I enjoy watching. But LIV has a long way to go before they’re on par with the top end tournaments. Sure as hell is not on par with a Ryder cup or Olympics 😂

I think you are all way off…everything he stated is pretty true and not much back handed in what he was getting at. The game is a competitive shit show at the moment, I dont know who could really argue that if you prefer the best competition with the best players…and to be fair, I have no problem with liv guys going and getting paid what they did. So all he said was that the two times they play for pure competition and no money, its amazing. He also gets paid a huge amount of money on tour, all be it less than what he would have gotten on LIV, but he still gets paid but preferred this and RC over everything else. Pretty classy and refreshing statement if you ask me.

With all due respect to RM, it seems to me a chicken or egg question. Playing in the Olympics has got to be a lifetime thrill. That being said, what drives the games? Dollars! Dollars for broadcasting. Dollars for infrastructure. Dollars for government. Dollars for manufacturers, Dollars for athletes, etc. It would seem the only difference is that it's a collective enterprise, lots of sports showcased at the same time. My opinion is a sports star making a comment about a "pure" competition is more a self flattuation marketing comment. Like I'm above it all. Please! We're not all that ignorant. The games lay a bunch of little eggs that if the athlete, who's successful, capitalize on and turn into all sorts of little chicken dollars. I truly believe that Golf should be taught in Schools. It promotes Discipline, Honesty, Etiquitte, Responsibility, Comradery and Control of oneself in the face of Adversity. In effect, a plan for how you should live your life. It's the hardest, but most fun sport ever, no matter how good you are as there's always room for improvement. Just watching the intense competition in the Majors and now the Olympics shows the world how great this game really is. Even people who have never watched Golf before became intensely patriotic for their countries. What could be better than this? Kids would absolutely benefit from learning these fantastic 'life skills' and go on to be better members of Society. Thats only my opinion, but I think it's relevant. Thoughts??

Being paid, or wanting to be, for representing your country is a huge disgrace - it should never be allowed. Representing your country in a chosen sport is one of the highest honours an athlete can achieve in their career, winning in those events; even more so. These are people who already make decent money, have sponsorships and other revenue streams and yet, only care about the money to play - I don't care how much LIV pays or the PGA pays or under what model but for international events where you're luckily enough to be chosen to represent your home country, you should answer the call with honour and pride - not by asking demanding a paycheck Give another athlete the opportunity instead

It would be concerning if the US$8.2Billion event wasn't the best event to be a competitor in. Golf is an individual sport or a golf team event, mixing with the same guys. It’s ok for 54 guys to play a few less regular tour events so they get to make money and travel the world showing the sport at the highest level in a fun exciting format for young people.
