Wow! This is awesome stuff! Glad I found wdefrncesco. At the end of the day every swing is unique, but the successful ones all share one happy ending: square at impact with tremendous club head speed. I enjoy the analysis to see how this is accomplished by different players. Thanks.

wow that move before the swing with the hips is awsome. I have such a problem with getting my club stuck behind me and that little move helps so much :)

Excellent balance. Not the most fluid swing I've seen, but the follow through is nice. Rory's hand/eye coordination is second to none.

my favorite player, and in my opinion has one of the most solid swings in the pga! just so fundamental and fluent! Pure scorer

Most of his power comes from proper pivoting on his right leg, meaning if you don't load or coil your chest against a braced back leg, there is no way to un-coil your hips at a greater speed. Proper pivoting allows him to start his down swing in a proper and powerful sequence. Watch how he loads his chest against the braced back leg, he has a huge shoulder turn, and phenomenal extension of his arms. FUN TO WATCH HIS SWING

Great analysis of a great golf swing. Interesting observation at 07:31 I suppose you may call it his trigger, would you say he kicks in his left knee then takes it away? Super website also, this is one of some great swings/golfers on it.

if you watch rory's hips very carefully just after impact they don't just wait for the hips to catch up but actually turn backwards before going forwards again. incredible strength to do that

it must be very tempting, after analyzing all these great swings, to constantly want to change your swing to match the brilliance you've just analyzed..

I don't get why he doens't hit the ball fat with all that compression into the ground?? Wayne, please explain?
@peterhilbert642810 жыл бұрын
Wayne I hope you will answer this question. I have looked for answers everywhere but to know avail. Here it is: When a players head drops on the take away and further drops on the downside what prevents him from hitting the ball heavy, is it that his hands lead the club a great deal? Please share your knowledge on this. thank you Peter

Yes

Secondary axis tilt is increased when the left hip socket is reached while the head is still behind the ball. In other words you're spine is more diagonal than it started so you're shorter.

Hey Wayne, Why does his right arm get stuck behind his back on the downswing? Is it because his knees shoot out to the ball on the downswing? Or is it a mix between his posture too?

Wayne, you have probably shot lower than 62 before right?

I don't know but I feel Rory and Furyk have similar arm positions when the club comes into impact...ya I know the knees are not the same....but the right elbow position is very similar with very different results distance-wise but similar results accuracy-wise.....

what about talking about the things he does well? his swing is about balance and rhythm, 10 times more to be learned from him just looking at his swing in normal time. so he gets it a bit behind himself but the recovery and results are phenomenal. slow motion does not do his talent justice

I know this guy is just trying to explain certain aspects of his swing, but it drives me NUTS! that he pauses/plays the video every second. Just let the swing play through.
