One of the best folk albums of all time! THANKS Don't forget Conor Oberst's love for Townes Van Zandt's texts, Like him, he knows how to write and sing sorrow and melancholy in a simple and wonderful way. I've been listening to this album for almost 15 years, and I always come back to it...

It's enjoyable to hear someone listen to these songs for the first time for an album and sound that have defined my life since i was a teenager. It's like listening to it for the first time watching your facial expressions. Thanks mate. I listened to this album as a kid and no one "got it" and I felt so alone. It's great to see that I wasn't alone.

Poison Oak was a song about his gay cousin that unalived himself at 23 (according to him during the bluegrass underground performance of it)

My favorite thing about bright eyes is on their most joyful sounding songs they are also able to provide the most mournful lyrics. It makes me happy for some reason.

“Fever’s and Mirrors” is the first album my roommate back like 2004 or 2005 let me hear. This album you’re reacting to “I’m Wide Away, It’s Morning,” has spent more time as my favorite Bright Eyes album than any other though I go back and forth on which is my favorite.

You should check out some Benjamin Todd (War Inside Me), Sabine McCalla, and even First Aid Kit! I think you’d love the Folk/Blues in these artists! Also, Poison Oak is about a cousin of Conor’s who unalived herself because she was a trans woman and didn’t feel comfortable coming out. On that note, please be a safe space for your family people. They deserve it and so do you❤
