I have my experiences, history, present and future. So I just paste here few things considering to creation of this masterpiece. Natural History Museum at Tring - this museum is in Hertfordshire, England (zoological collections of Sir Walter Rothschild) team in there: Joanne Cooper Ian Watson Catherine O’Carroll Hailey Bickham Claire Walsh They had real freedivers instead of CGI: Freedivers: Guillaume Néry (Footage from “One Breath Around The World” filmed by Franck Seguin ), Tommi Pasanen, Pavlos Kourtellas and the important part! Edited & Directed by: Ville Lipiäinen, same man who did Wacken 2013 and is still a great visual qenius beside Tuomas. Reading his mindworld and transfer perfection to vids. Greetings from Finland (at the hometown of new bassist Jukka Koskinen)

Thanks so much Rosalie❤️ Love your freckled face and your docu-series is brilliant. I keep proposing the theory that when Floor joined the band, Tuomas was freed to explore the limits of his imagination. He's no longer limited by "a singer's" limitations. He gives life to his thoughts and Floor fleshes out the composition with all the colors, textures and tones only she can provide. Genius sq.

The line was "We're the perfume of the timeless". We are the fragrance raised by being born, that intoxicated our parents and grandparents, as our children and grandchildren are a fine, loving fragrance that intoxicates us. And even those of us who don't have kids, we are in there, we are the cause of a million loves, we are because of a million loves. Nice reaction.

This is what unconstrained genius looks and sounds like. Tuomas does exactly what he pleases and goes wherever his muse takes him. It's on us to keep up and follow along. That he leaves many behind is no surprise. This... this composition is fucking epic. And it's as deep as the Marianas Trench.

Each and every one of your 4,094 ancestors in the past 400years lived their own story that played out, without even one of them, you would not exist. Now you are living your own story, stories of love, conflict, sorrow and joy. YOU same as ME are lucky to have even been born. Life is truly a Mirical, one day it will be your children's children who are living a new story. Family is precious.

Hey. 124 Spider here. Honestly, if all children in their first school years had heard this song and read the lyrics, I'm sure that today... all of humanity would be much more cohesive and kind to each other. I had never thought about how I got here, today, alive. If anyone still had doubts that Nightwish ARE THE BEST BAND IN THE WORLD, right now?. So I just have to say that humanity is no longer thinking for itself. It's the "NEW" AI that everyone talks about, but they don't even pay attention to what it means. NIGHTWIH FOREVER SINCE EVER.

I wrote a piece of poetry last year on this topic, this song just made me feel everything again. *****Walk the steps of life with me, a journey to begin, breathe, take it in, be bold. You are never alone, hand in hand with the intensity of those that crawled so you could run, sweet delight is that voice on the wind, a voice to guide us on and to guide us home. ***** (part of the first verse) Nightwish always brings out the feelings of who we are and how we came to be. what a perfect song to listen to and to analyse.

Always fascinating to hear your thoughts, you draw out so much from the music! It makes me think of what I know of my ancestors, the struggles and achievements of all those people. The ones who fled for their lives to England because of religious persecution. The ones who created art, or made things for others to use from metal and leather. The teetotallers and the alcoholics, the soldiers, entertainers, and carers, and the thousands more about whom I know nothing. It's humbling and hopeful.

What really blows my mind about the message of this song and the video is thinking about that lizard becoming the human when it dives in the water... It dawns on me that this doesn't just apply to us, that our bond with history goes back even before humanity, those apes and lizards and strange little salamander things were our relatives too. They did a great job of showing in the video that as well as that, every bird, plant, insect... they all have their ancestors too. Also ending with the equally humbling and heartbreaking image of a shipwreck... The idea of being lost at sea, all these chains that are broken, and how lucky and crazy it is that we are here still existing as that link that goes back to wherever life started. It breaks my brain a bit but it's such a breath of fresh air that Nightwish write about this sort of stuff and manage to make it accessible.

Rosalie, This is why I absolutely love your channel. Your raw emotion, your honesty, your intelligence....all are revealed here in your reaction to another Nightwish masterpiece. Much like "Shoemaker", Toumas reminds us of his love for science and deep thinking...and at just how small we are and the short time that we are here. This song has everything, and just think we are going to get an entire album to go with it. This is beyond a single description....is it a song, is it a message, is this art or science???? I have often wondered why Nightwish does not have any of the "big" awards, (ie, grammy). I think it is because Nightwish is clearly setting the path and what category do you put them in....other than the greatest ever (smile). A couple of things that jumped out at me were the number ancestors, hard aches and loves, for us to be here in this singular moment. I also noticed that several times we watching what looked like exploration, only to have it revealed that we are part of big "experiment" and being "watched" by others. Rosalie....thank you and please keep up the great work. Nightwish Army from Frisco, Texas, USA...checking in.

Dear Rosalie, great reaction to a real masterpiece. In my opinion you really understood the message of the story Tuomas is telling with this song/video. Yes, we are the offspring of myriad ancestors starting with LUCA (or perhaps even earlier as stardust). All these ancestors still live in us and designed us, but besides this everyone of us has to write her/his own book of life and perhaps becomes the creator of another lineage, of "another tale". I especially love this "return to the sea" in the video, to our origin where life started on planet Earth.

The video is fascinating, as it starts with the big bang (tying TGSOE and Shoemaker with those space shots) a cosmogony bit, then continues with the reptile that jumps into the water, the very source of life. The detailed fact of what it takes for us to exist is just mindblowing. Ngl, the open shot of the diver floating in the ocean tickled my anxiety, especially as the light/bait on the giant anglerfish's head becomes slowly visible (terrifying as heck) Next step in the evolution process, are the primitive organisms changing time and time again, creating many different species, including the homo sapiens sapiens, the toolmaker, the human we are today, (aka Tuomas), it also shows the raw, predator-prey dynamic. The section on the natural history museum is my favourite. The fossils are super cool, and the old-looking encyclopedias stand beautifully on the shelves. Floor's free fall into her own history pages reminded me of Élan, loved seeing the different shots, like multiple sides of her. Then back to the water, finally, a sort of fusion between her and Tuomas appear to be the first "curious ghosts" to explore the museum, though Kai's is already there, reading (The Portrait of Dorian Gray? I mean, because of how his face turned into a skull), I'm not sure how he got there though, but I'm guessing that every time the diver comes out of the water, it represents each of them. Emppu's journey took me by surprise, he seems to be a peculiar jellyfish, though it makes sense, the man himself is quite peculiar in the best way. Troy observing and gently reaching out to the butterflies is a lovely scene, like cherishing the smallest, most fragile living beings. A badass breakdown, mixed with visuals that gave me Procession vibes. Jukka's ghost disintegrating like that gave me the idea of "ashes to ashes, dust to dust". The last shot of the diver floating with the whales is beautiful, I've always loved their calls/songs. Then, everything comes to a full circle with that drop of water that nurtures the earth. At the end of our journey through this world, we will go back to where we came from. We become one with mother nature.

Is Tuomas the deepest thinker in the world today? Such a polymath, a Renaissance man: so widely-read and artistic on so many different levels, in such a wide variety of topics. The sheer poetry of those lyrics. The haunting melody, and varying orchestration. As always, Nightwish gives the emotions a thorough wringing-out. And so much thoughtfulness packed into the video; I:d heard the song, but the video gives an extra dimesion, an extra depth. Our place in time; ancestors and descendents. Wonderful reaction, Rosalie. Really made me think.

I was about to send that link to u last night, when I 1st saw it: "Rosalie will LOVE this one!" Isn't it funny, how us (who know Nightwish) are just jumping in: "a new song by Nightwish? Gotta listen!" What I think of as a phenomenon: I don't know of any other band in any genre that made science a major part of their songs. And they've been doing this for quite a while. With Richard Dawkins on stage with them...WE! know. But I've never seen it so prominent. tool did some things in that direction. I was like you, one minute in: it was dusty, here in my room! An idiom u used did trigger me: "to walk in someone's shoes". You'll like this one: Eivoer Palsdottir: "In my shoes". I'll be watching her again on oct, 2nd, here in Hamburg. Also great for a psychologist to react to: piece by piece. (I've been in such a relationship.) You've reacted on her song Trollabundin.

"A typical masterpiece" - that's saying so much right there; very well put! I haven't watched the video enough times to really unpack all the imagery, much less get to the music.

The Lovely Bunch of Coconuts appears to be the Nightwish company that is owned by all the current members of Nightwish. It's the official name of the Finnish company and registered in Finland. Before Jukka Koskinen joined the band, the Nightwish was managed via company called Oily Empire, also registered in Finland and owned by the then-current lineup.

There have been some complaints that Floor's voice is buried too far in the mix. But, I wonder, given what you have said, if that isn't because Tuomas wanted to remind us of all that are behind and before us. Her voice is still the one you hear the clearest, but behind her, you also hear the choir mixing with, and becoming part of her music.

If it was a concious decision to mix it like "they" did,so be it, artisticly it's a choise maby not to argue, soundwise, for me,it's a bit more nuanced, first,it's a great song and fantastic video but, from a audio standpoint/view there are really some little parts, like some endings of sentences from Floor, wich drown (not only in the choirs) in the music. In general it sounds great but ,if i have to choose between artistic interpretation or soundwise,it's the sound i prefer because the artistic message is already in the video and the lyrics. Maby it's personnel view and certainly not a thing to say that it is bad,it's just a "ietsie pietsie"(Dutch for Just a little bit)better for me if vocals on some (little) parts would be a bit more louder.😉🤘 Oh,i forgot to say, live ,this is gonna be a blast.😝

“The Best” reaction to this song!! You provided an insight throughout the song & in your summary that is very important to understand - We are a part of something - what was before is & what will be. How life has evolved to survive. WE WERE HERE. TGSOE: "After sleeping through a hundred million centuries we have finally opened our eyes on a sumptuous planet, sparkling with color, bountiful with life. Within decades we must close our eyes again. Isn't it a noble, an enlightened way of spending our brief time in the sun, to work at understanding the universe and how we have come to wake up in it?" [- Professor Richard Dawkins]

I love how you put “the best” in quotation marks. I could be wrong, but I interpret that as, the idea of something being the best is relative since I mentioned in my video we’re all bringing a different angle and all part of the whole :-) and if that is indeed what you meant, I think that’s so awesome you took that into consideration and I’m honored you enjoyed my analysis and reminded us of the powerful statement, we were here!

In the beginning everything is going forward, even the books are going from left to right as time. Then in the jump scene, pages are coming away from the book and everything starts to go backwards in time. Also the books are going from right to left. Even the sound that Rosalie pointed out is played backwards. So many hints and details to miss.

Regarding the Mix for POTT. Think it probably struck us all as a bit ‘different’ but having listened to it a dozen or so times, I think they are using the mix as a way of telling the story. The theme of the song is that we are the result of the generations before and we will pass on to the generations to come (gross oversimplification) So Floor comes in and picks up the melody , becomes part of the living forefront and then fades and becomes part of the choir. Then after she has gone the mantle is taken up by Troy to be passed down the line.
