I think one of the reasons her friends/collaborators are ignoring the evidence is that they’re not sure if this reckoning that Colleen is going through is permanent. They probably feel like they can’t speak badly about Colleen, because she helped them make lots of money in the past. If she comes back from this, they want to make sure they’re still in her good books.

Not always and i think thats important to note. it can be amazing progress but it can also be the result of pushing down your feelings and dissociating from traumatic events because its too much to deal with. Which makes treatment so much harder coz the two can look the same from the outside. Obviously we hope that it is genuine healing but so often these things can be overlooked and end up worse if we just assume ' i dont care' means healed when it could be the exact opposite. I myself deal with trauma by distancing and not emotionallly connecting which has made things so much worse over time which is why i thought i should mention. In this case of course adams mentioned hes done a lot of work privately and it does sound like hes dealing with everything healthily which of course he should be very proud of because thats very difficult to do. but i thought i should reply and let people know just in case ppl are dealing with trauma with avoidance or they know someone else who appears to have made progress, support and attention and treatment are still good. AND if its a sudden calm or 'progress' maybe be on alert if yk. Assuming that everything is okay with ppl in your private life can be dangerous, speculating on a creators mental health journey is none of your business tho, im giving this advice for commenters personal lives/relationships not for their observations on strangers, it sucks that i have to make this disclaimer.

That is when I realised that I had finally healed and moved on when I was made aware of something it didn’t send me spiralling back to a dark place and I was able to be like “i don’t care, it’s not my business” and go on with my day. My take away is that Ro asked for understanding to take her time to process. Then contacts Adam,opens a channel, and when he doesn’t reply within on week, she closes the communication channel. So we all sat around and waited to see if Ro would speak, after finding out her family hung out at the Ballingers'. The statement from her feels weird, like she didn't even write it. She wrote about Mr. Beast using her honest feelings. Her statement here feels like JoJo's, but for the other camp, if that makes sense. I do not like that she followed you only to unfollow you when you didn't immediately give her attention. I understand she's getting pressured by a lot of her fans to speak, but she needs to be careful with her words, and therefore, this doesn't sound like her statement, but someone from her team. The benefit of doubt I'll award her is this: She said she wanted to wait till all the evidence was out, but I think she meant "till she had a chance to properly sift through it all." When things blow up on social media, it's almost always immediately blown out of proportion and dramatized. This was NOT one of those cases - Colleen Ballinger is unquestionably at fault for what she's been accussed of, and the victims of the stories that have been sharing are heartbreaking and undoubtable (and EVIDENCED). But sometimes it's hard to decipher that from the jump. At the same time, for someone who's apparently dealing with the continued grieving of her father/parent, and having to go through all his belongings, the pain and disorientation that comes with that... I can understand where she was coming from, and how this was not a large portion of where her emotional and cognitive energy were focused. It's not a great look, and maybe many people wish it could've been handled better. But I can also understand where she's coming from.

Just because he's decided to take the high road and move on doesn't mean he couldn't have used her support earlier, it definitely feels like more of a case of too little too late and less that he's always been unbothered. And while I am sympathetic to her situation, all she had to say was "I don't currently have the bandwidth to deal with this, and given the truly despicable nature of the allegations, I want to be able to give this situation the attention it deserves without jumping to conclusions on either side." I would be more sympathetic if her job wasn't so public, but that's kind of the tradeoff of having a big platform, you have to use it responsibly and do the basics like denounce grooming if the situation comes up. Cuz that's in essence what you're arguing for, she was too busy to say hey yall, grooming children is bad. It's possible that colleen is hiding things from the general public. Her whole apology back in 2020 was only what she wanted us to know. As a older adult i know exactly where roe was coming from. When u love someone in your life and they do something absolutely horrible its hard to think of someone u loved and know they were so horrible and soul crushingly evil. Its like you have to grieve for the relationship you had with that person. When u really had love for a person no matter the type of love and relationship it is(ie: spouse, siblings,friends,etc ) you get hurt painfully also. ive been there. And friends and family being stuck in the situation with the person by association is traumatic also bc ppl do judge ppl associated even when you have nothing to do with it. Basically Colleen has harmed absolutely everyone in her life from this, so that means even if its far from the same thing, she created more victims of her actions and choices. Coming to terms for roe is painful and my heart breaks understanding her side of it. Just my opinion sorry .just had to say it ive been on that end of things, and the ppl i knew did soul shattering horrible things, and are in prison now for those actions. It hurts to come to terms in the end

I think that the “I like to hear both sides” statement is more of a broad statement, not about Colleen specifically. It’s generally said by a lot of people about all situations, and she spoke on it being why she never spoke on it ‘at the time’. I believe the only part of that which was about Colleen specifically was the statement “which hasn’t happened”. Now, I always like to know both sides of a story in any situation. Not with Colleen, let me get that straight right off the bat…cause everyone knows that NOW. But I believe a lot of KZbinrs keep things vague not because they’re still in some sort of support of Colleen, but because it could potentially cause an issue down the line if Colleen decides to take more action with her lawyers perhaps? I think that Rosanna felt that that was NOT an adequate response, the same way most of us felt, and especially as her best friend who didn't know this was going on went "that's it? That's all she has to say? Surely there's more to this. Surely she'll explain herself, right? I know Colleen. She wouldn't do this." And having to slowly come to terms with the fact that no, this is all Colleen wants to say on the topic. This is all Colleen will give, and this is exactly how Colleen means to say it. I think Rosanna was in denial and then bargaining and then acceptance, my guess is she was in shock and the way she processed the shock was with this kind of resolve of "but I have to hear both sides. That's only fair, right?" I agree it's iffy what she said, but I think that's what she meant.

I also don't like to jump on public opinion, that's fair...BUT it's more than public opinion when there is proof. And sure, every statement doesnt have proof, so lets look at the proof we have. -Messages proving she distributed paywall exclusive explicit photos? -A video where she calls Trisha a whale. -Trisha acknowledging that Colleen eventually owned up to the previous actions. -Asking inappropriate sexual questions to minors -Being on video chats with minors -Asking Adam to run her Twitter, approving his tweets and then blaming him for them. - Alluding to sexual abuse with an uncle in her show to an audience of children. -The honeymoon video with her wandering hand.. -The Trent / Oliver conversations. -The video of Becky on stage. -Adam having the 'ugly' lingerie' -Her editing choices on the video addressing the underwear controversy, compared to the actual livestream. -Her video backlog; the dog story and her racist impressions. -The choice to respond with the ukulele video as a way to address grooming allegations. If Colleen came out with an excuse..is there any reason that you can imagine that would explain or excuse any of this? We can play the, some of it was a long time ago angle, and I agree people can change with the times and realize their ignorance and insensitivities.. but we have a timeline that shows she has not grown or changed. When would this change have occurred? Last month? Besides even saying that, would require her to take accountability. Perhaps since she grew up in an unconventional household, with some questionable things, her perspective is off with how to draw the line with children and friendships. (Again this would require accountability) mayve she really truely never learned how adults and kids can interact and whats inappropriate..but the most damning thing is that ukulele video which clearly shows she refuses to reflect on her actions or take any of this seriously. She doesn't care. And her silence doubles down on that point. People can hurt people unintentionally, and people can be misinformed, and people can make mistakes.
