Get wife / husband and kids. Pray for that. Only that will give you peace and purpose in your life. Thinking too much about ourselves is really poisonous, and sends us to complete madness. Trust me. What gives us life and purpose is thinking about the others, specially the weakest and the most innocents. The pain of a lonely person is way bigger than the pain of a married person with children. The joy of a lonely person is way smaller than the joy of a married person with children.

@@YourlocalNoVAgeek It doesn't matter how old you are. If you start praying for this, God and the Holy Mary will concede you this at the right time. Being a teenager is a conflict of a childish brain tormented by adult thoughts and knowledge, a deep desire of having adult powers and rights without adult consequences and duties. It's a painful transformation, but there's a way to ease this pain. Is getting the maturity to know that we are not made for ourselves and our own pleasures. When you start looking to life the way it really is, the teenager existencial crisis will be very short (I know it's a painful time in human life, I've been there too). The teenager existencial crisis can be resumed by someone struggling to accept the truth that what hurts us the most, is this overthinking about ourselves. Our future, our peace, our purpose is all about being useful and heroic to the others who need us.

So, I have a situation. Tomorrow is the feast day of St. Michael and I want to be able to go to Mass tomorrow. But, my family was planning on having couples group tonight which would push us to attend Sunday Mass instead of the Vigil we usually go to. However, that got canceled so they’re now planning on going to the Vigil. Can you please pray for me that we may be able to attend Mass on St. Michael’s feast day? Specifically through the Rosary? Thank you. Edit: I’m also 17 without a driver’s license, so I can’t just drive myself. And Sunday Mass is more traditional at my parish with the younger priest and incense. Please pray for me. Edit: So, my family and I went to Vigil Mass so our Sunday obligation was fufilled and my dad said he would also drive me to Sunday Mass *if* I got my homework done. The thing is, there was a lot more homework than I thought there would be and I unfortunately did not make it. Now, that I look back on it, I’m a bit disappointed, but it’s not the end of the world. But, thank you for your prayers. Happy feast day of St. Michael! Defend us in battle! God bless you.

This is beautiful. I also listen to the rosary on Hallow - but I have a question. If I listen and mediate on the mysteries while I listen, am I saying the Rosary? I find it difficult to speak the prayers along with the recorded voice, but feel very connected while listening. Any advice?

I'm Catholic, but I struggle with the Rosary. Please help. Can anybody explain to me how do I build a relationship with Mary as my spiritual Mother by repeating those words to her over and over and over and over again like a mantra? Isn't the Rosary text basically an angel's greeting and a request for prayer? But... I'd never speak to my own Mum like that. I only greet her once, every time we meet... not 50 times in a row for half an hour. I also would only ask her once or twice tops for things, then maybe remind her later, but keep asking? Over and over? That just sounds awful in my head, like I think she's stupid, or ignoring me on purpose, unwilling to help unless I literally beg forever. That prayer just... feels terrible. Like I wasn't praying, but playing on a lottery machine, when each time I drop a hail mary in the slot, something might just happen, so I better do it dozens if times each day for a good luck. I don't know what am I doing or thinking wrong, but I just can't do it... please help. People keep telling me to just treat her like my own Mother, but then I just keep thinking hor horribly unnatural the Rosary sounds in this context. I don't know what to think anymore...

That's the devil trying to prevent you from building a relationship with Mary. All those thoughts are from him. Pray to God for strength and once he does pray the rosery with all your heart and soul don't dewell on negative things bur what you got

The rosary is a way to keep our body occupied with words while our mind reflect upon God. It's a kind of meditation, but with a very Catholic orientation. The words remind us of important bases of our faith. That said, I also have difficulties with prayer. I tend to prefer a mindful meditation moment, but I'm trying to be less intellectual about prayer. Bless be with you!

Then what about my thoughts is a lie? My relationship with my Mom? The fact that Rosary is very repetitive and this is not how we talk to people normally? When I speak about something, this is what I'm thinking about. Wouldn't it be better if I just tell Mary how I feel? If I just open my heart to her? Everyone says I should do Rosary but I just don't understand the point at all. Mary loves me, doesn't she? If I ask her to pray for my soul she will, won't she? So why should I ask her for that 50 times? Is that really how it works, does that make her love me more, because I said it so many times? I just can't understand it. I can't understand how prayer can be "less intellectual", since we are using our intellect to pray in the first place. If I am to meditate on something, I can do that. But adding words just makes it so much more difficult to focus I can't see the point at all. Can't see how I'm either helping myself, or Mary like that. Can't see how is it supposed to work. I'm feel so lost and lonely about this... what am I supposed to do?
