Pretty neat idea. I've been putting off a backyard fence install for my dog to roam around, but i might try this instead.
@RoscoReviews Жыл бұрын
This works really well if you have a tree or something to tie it to. We mostly use it when we can’t be outside with our dog for a bit. And it’s WAY cheaper than a fence. Lol

Hey - I wanted to let you know how much I appreciated this video! Just bought the Snagle Paw Dog Trolley for our 100 lb "Teenage Woolly Mammoth" (purebred German Shepherd puppy) who doesn't understand that our remodel contractors aren't home invaders. So this is an emergency purchase and install on my part. I suddenly had an urgent need for my new Instant Trusted Guru for dog trolleys... Yeah, no. Surprisingly hard to find decent video on quick clear installation - UNTIL YOURS! 🥳👍👏🏆🎖️⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ My opinion - a solid YES!A+ for clear instruction, bullet-point-style info re: purpose and use of each hardware component, best strategies for installation according to individual needs! I see you did this in winter, probably just a quick thing because you guys got one. Personally, I think you should reshoot this in warm weather, do a little additional video and sound editing, and add decent music background (not LAME "I'm a late nite informercial" track, but decently cool lol). Then upload and send link to Snagle Paw AND other companies and dog blogs. You could also make a little residual $ with per click links to Amazon, etc. Anyways, just a thought because I truly needed your video today, and you seem to have that magic skill set for "quick video education" of us "John Q Public pride. Very marketable skill, friend! Thank you, and take care. 😀💪🙌👍

Thank you so much for the kind words! This was difficult to film because of the wind and unfortunately the audio didn't come out great. I may remake it someday when its nicer out.

@@RoscoReviews nah, the wind blowing was fine, and it did not detract from being able to hear you at all as you are able to project your voice which is awesome. 👏

Well... I used those for my dogs, guardogs... They run all the way front to back of my property, and the middle has a 12 foot area so people can come and knock... But when Im not home, I give them the extra 6 fpot each... Or at night. They love the freedom... And I love the security sustem ahhaha. Up front and back I have motion sensors which the dogs cannot trigger... So before they go crazy I already hear it go beep. Best security system.ever. they still have their own resting lil insulated houses, but they usually just lay down in the front and back porch. I have 4 German shepherds

Thank you for the video, I am considering buying a dog runner and was curious if they were adjustable.
@RoscoReviews7 ай бұрын
The Length of the zipline is adjustable. The lead isn't really. I suppose you could tie it in a knot or something to shorten it. The webbing lead that comes with the kit didn't last too long with our dog, so we replaced it with this cable one and it seems to last forever. amzn.to/4cbRA0T

It would be helpful to see the dog playing around using the tether you installed =)
@RoscoReviews9 ай бұрын
Yeah. I wish KZbin would allow us to add a clip in the comments. I would put a clip with the wire tether that we added. The zip line is great though. Totally worth it.
@SlackerU Жыл бұрын
You installed those cable-clamps on backwards. The U-bolt goes on the wire with no tension(it's round, no friction).
@RoscoReviews Жыл бұрын
Good to know! I thought they could go either way.

You are correct. I was taught to never saddle a dead horse (the loose cable end)!

Except never put the leash on the collar, they can hang them selves. Always use a body harness instead

When you attach the cable to the post.Your camera was so far away.I couldn't see how you did it or what parts you were using
@RoscoReviews9 ай бұрын
my apologies. I wish youtube would let me post a picture of it. I would go take one to add in here. The kit comes with all of the necessary pieces. The short wire makes a loop around the post. then you use the chain link piece to close that loop. the dog run cable then attaches to the chain link piece. The wire clamps are tightened onto the long cable to set the length where you want it. I should have gotten a close up shot of it when it was finished.

Will this work a very powerful 130 lb. Great Dane St Bernard Mix escape artist?
@RoscoReviews Жыл бұрын
The cable is pretty strong. But I got a short coiled cable for the leash part. After a while our puppy chewed through the webbing leash. You would need to make sure the anchors are really secure. That is a big dog. But it’s worth a shot 🤷🏼♂️
@cliffmatican Жыл бұрын
@@RoscoReviews Agree. He'd chew through the bungee leash part in a second.

How and what do you cut the zip line with?Wire cutters aren’t cutting it
@RoscoReviews6 ай бұрын
I would think sturdy wire cutters or bolt cutters would do it. You could probably also use an angle grinder or, in a pinch, a hack saw.
@AirQuotes8486 ай бұрын
@@RoscoReviews Thanks, I’m going to try one of those because that wire is not showing any signs of being cut strong stuff 😳🫣

It works well for our bernidoodle. I’m not sure if some breeds should not be put on a run like this. Probably best to ask your veterinarian to be sure.

Is there a safe way to have 2 dogs on the same tie out?
@RoscoReviews8 ай бұрын
you definitely could attach 2 leads to the trolly... but I am not sure how safe it would be. I would worry that they would tangle each other up. you could maybe use 2 trollies and put a couple of clamps in the middle to stop them so that the dogs can't reach each other. then they could each use half of the cable. But I only have one dog, so i have never tried to put 2 on there.

Dogs die on those things
@RoscoReviews9 ай бұрын
I suppose it would be possible. Particularly if there were obstacles to get the tether bought on. However, this keeps them out of the street and they are far more likely to die by being hit by a car.
