I love Mike Rowe. Why have I never before run across this podcast? I guess binge watching is in my future.

Well dang it, after all the videos on KZbin have been watched up, and after listening to you politely and gently implore me to do so, I have subscribed to the podcast because I enjoy these stories. It's like a word a day, but more substantial and a bit more thought provoking. Thanks for the noodle jumpstarts.

This has been "out there" for 2 years, and i, a Mike Rowe fan from your 1st Dirty Jobs, just discovered it. That only seems like bad news. The good news is, it is still here, still prepared to inspire. Thank you Utube! !!

Another great story. I am old so I remember the summer when Jaws was in the theaters. It was very eerie around the beaches that year. It seems as people knew Jaws was a movie but thinking could there be a Great White shark like that in the water if I go swimming? The Jaws book was also outstanding as was the movie. Mike Rowe is an American treasure. No, he is a world treasure. Thanks for the video.

Charlie Brown ... What fond memories of watching it when I was a kid (I still watch him Lol). Time to revisit Charlie and the gang though, it's been a while. I used to love to watch them dance: with their shrugged shoulders and bobbing bodies and head moving from side to side to a catchy little tune that I will always remember. Lol, anyway, that's the way I remember it. Your vids and stories resonate today with some much needed history and a distraction from today's ever-increasing bad news in 2021, as I am sure they did when originally aired. Thanks

My favorite Peanuts cartoon. Snoopy looking through the cracks in a fence, "the grass does look greener on the other side". It then shows snoopy on the other side of the fence,"until you jump over and realise it's artificial turf".

I had pegged Peter Benchley as your subject about halfway through, not because of “Jaws,” but because of the protagonist in one of his other novels, “Q Clearance,” about a frustrated presidential speech writer. If you haven’t read it, you should. It is a hilarious account of that speech writer quite accidentally receiving a stratospheric security clearance and becoming enmeshed in a plot of espionage and and intrigue.

great story - can't wait to share with my history/political buff spouse this evening. ...Linus and Woodstock were my favorite characters. I suspect that tiny bird was just as smart as my blanket-clutching, thumb-sucking anti-hero. if we had been as aware of the larger world at his age we woyld have been doing the same. but then my earliest childhood memories of the outside world were Watergate and the Vietnam war...

I am sorry but I don't drive as much as I used to so don't need podcast yet if I get my garage going it will be played just like Paul Harvey in my dentist office! Keep it up!

Just saw the video and as a A/V guy I can explain the blue/gold issue. The bright light on the white paper is throwing off your white balance on the camera (yes that s a thing) and its trying to auto correct that. This is why you don't front light anything, try drawing the blind behind the camera and flip on an over head light to correct that issue.

Different colors absorb certain colors more due to the wave length of the color of the light. Therefore when it bounces off the paper and into the camera different light is entering the camera lens Yay physics!
