Hey there!
Rose gold and similar rosy hues are super duper ~trendy~ right now (heck, rose quartz is Pantone's colour of the year), so I thought I'd make a little video about how I did my hair at home! Hopefully you find this tutorial informative, or at least mildly watchable. Thanks for checking it out :)
ALSO: I left the dye in for about 35 minutes or so. Forgot to mention that!

Thought I’d share what I did. For reference I have very fine, dark brown asian hair that goes down to mid back. I bleached my hair twice doing a balayage pattern, using 4 packets(1 oz each) overall of L’Oréal quick blue and about 10 oz of ion sensitive scalp 30 vol develop + 1 oz ion absolute perfection booster step 1 (olaplex “dupe” sorta). Those amount were for overall not each time. I lifted to a 7-8 level with minimal damage. Then I used a silicon free white conditioner and the same dye. I used about 1/4 of the dye. I left it in for an hour and voila rose gold hair! I’ll continue using the dye in my conditioner. Thanks for the tutorial.

I havent tested it as yet im a little scared im going to goof my hair up as I dont have the punky colour dye.. Thank you I gave it a go my hair is much shorter pixie crop but adding the rose tint into it is nice. I am not sure about it for work in some places but its going to be fun with festivals coming this way :-) I tried it with the la riche tulip plus pastel pink and white conditioner. its very strong if you add a lot of the tulip it is clinging to my hair like crazy. so ive washed it a lot with head and shoulders and used fructis conditioner I now have a very pale rose on the blonde. be warned if you do try the la riche Justine its very strong for me anyway. and it has a darker tint I need to get the right combination of conditioner and dye but im loving this look its so pretty! big post and breathe :P maybe the la riche will be an alternative. I used less then 1/4 teaspoon of la riche tulip and a lot of the pastel pink 1 teaspoon into the conditioner. I kept the rest in a jar but needed gloves it stains everything everywhere like crazy. I should have done a video for it but I dont like being seen on camera.

Hello, I just wanted to say I tried this today and it worked!!!!!!!! I mixed a magenta shade with a bit of violet until I got a similar color to the one you've used and now I have a lovely shade of golden pink. Thank you for making me aware the trick is having some purple pigment mixed with the brasiness.

Are you going for the rose gold? If you are, you don't need to necessarily get as light as I did in my bleaching process video, you only need to get to the golden shade in the beginning of this (the rose gold) video. Since your hair is naturally darker than mine, you may need to do two bleaching processes, but it's not necessary for you to use the garnier kit or the bleaching products in the other video. You can choose either or, you don't have to use both :)

Honestly. This is one of the best tutorials I have ever seen. I'm dyeing/cutting/bleaching my hair for 10 years already by myself. And I know at least 1000 different tutorials, tipps and tricks and youtubers. Your editing, your explanation, your voice it's all in perfect harmony, and your video is so easy to watch. I also like that you're not going for the pastel look and bleach the sh*it out of your hair, but show a better method and some cheating with the purple tone. It's really really great! Mia Ong I had mine the rose gold and while hers turned out great I more orange tones in mine and the salon mixed it with the pink and the conditioner for that dusty rosey gold color no gold tones if you don't add the orange tones

Really glad I found this video, because I've been wanting my hair to look almost exactly like this, but my hair is already dyed ash blonde, as is shown in my small icon photo, and heard people saying I need to bleach it AGAIN to a very pale pink to be able to achieve any type of "rose gold" shade, but your color turned out how I want mine, not a bright, in your face pink. Charnarz my hair is dark brown and I just used the ombre box dye from loreal and then dyed it pink. It didn't really damage my hair and my curls so if you really like it I'll say go for it.

you can always try lightening it with a natural lightening shampoo, way less damage.

andrea antonia At the moment I have pastel violet but one month ago I had pastel pink. You don't really need super white hair for pink because it's a warmer colour. So it's ok to have a bit of a yellow undertone. But for every good looking pastel colour you should have really light hair. And if you know how to care about your hair it will not damage your hair that much. Just use shampoos and/or conditioners which spend your hair humidity (always important) and have some proteins. ^^

Love that you used a violet instead of pink, it kinda toned down the brassiness like a mild toner and made a gorgeous shade of rose gold! i did the same on my yellowish platinum hair to achieve a light blue, used a bluish purple instead and got a true blue instead of teal :3

I want to go for pastel pink, but I'm not so sure; I'd be happy with a peachy rose gold or pastel. It'd be easier to go from rose gold to pastel by bleaching over the course of a few months so as to avoid damage. I was going to go to a professional, but it's been four months since my parents agreed to letting me do it, and I'm sick of waiting for something that's not going to happen.
