Oh my goodness, were there any other experienced soapers holding their breath during this video?! In a normal batch of cold process that would just have been scary LOLOLOL but the end result is absolutely astounding! I've been making soap for nearly 20 years and coming from the old soap boards I have seen A LOT of amazing soaps. I have to say though, this is definitely one of the most impressive I have ever seen!

I’m thinking lye is added to bar soaps, but is it a necessity? You did a beautiful job but this recipe looks quite advanced. This is definitely not a beginner’s project! you can not make soap without lye. yes this is a bit more advanced just in the design but the basics are simple

Patricia Sodium hydroxide (lye water) + fats (oils and butters) = soap + glycerin. You cannot make soap without lye. Most commercial soaps are actually detergents and the glycerin is removed and sold by the manufacturer.
