Oh my goodness, were there any other experienced soapers holding their breath during this video?! In a normal batch of cold process that would just have been scary LOLOLOL but the end result is absolutely astounding! I've been making soap for nearly 20 years and coming from the old soap boards I have seen A LOT of amazing soaps. I have to say though, this is definitely one of the most impressive I have ever seen!
@ThermalMermaid4 жыл бұрын
Thank you.I know many soapers out there over the year think this one will fall apart. I should do make a new batch and do a 1 year update on the pieces left over. These still look like the day they were made.

I'm looking to start making my own soap and wanted to thank you for sharing all this critical data. I also noticed that you are very well versed in the gemology lingo which I found very impressive. You have a great balance within your video presentation even the music was on par and kept me grooving while watching. You might want to include the artist details for the copy write laws. I hope to be as successful as you and wish you the very best! I'm going to join your site. BRAVO!!!!!!!!!

I’m thinking lye is added to bar soaps, but is it a necessity? You did a beautiful job but this recipe looks quite advanced. This is definitely not a beginner’s project! Thank you for sharing, this recipe was fun to watch! Because of all the labor, I would imagine the cost is on the high end. Fantastic job! Blessings!
@ThermalMermaid5 жыл бұрын
you can not make soap without lye. yes this is a bit more advanced just in the design but the basics are simple

This made my OCD go through the roof lol. Curious though, as a soap maker myself, wouldn't it have been better if you had tapped down the mold a little bit, so that it wouldn't have crumbled at cutting? Seemed like there might have been too many air pockets in there.

Do melt and pour instead of lye solution when you get started. Its just the base, color if desired and fragrance.

What is lye water for?
@debbieescobar62674 жыл бұрын
Patricia Sodium hydroxide (lye water) + fats (oils and butters) = soap + glycerin. You cannot make soap without lye. Most commercial soaps are actually detergents and the glycerin is removed and sold by the manufacturer.
