Great memories of so many concerts at this venue with my father, several of the shows featuring groups led by Randy, former resident in nearby Madison. Kenny Davern, Peps, etc. And of course the great Mark Shane, James and Kevin, virtual regulars here for so many years with the Bruce Gast shows. Randy is a great guy and gorgeous cornet player. Used to team up with Dan Barrett for mindboggling quality music. So missed here on the west coast.

Good job! But the drums are too loud!( I love drums! But in this clip, it's way too loud.Maybe the recording was not so good?) When the horn came in , it got naturalized. Btw., why such a minimized drum set?

Dear Atsuko, you have many questions. All of them can be answered by one simple assertion: a live recording in a theatre does not sound the same way as a recording in a recording studio might. And just between us, if you think those drums are too loud, I wonder what you think of, say, live recordings of Buddy Rich? I can't go back to 2013 and adjust the balance. Alas.

@@swingyoucats Buddy rich was/ is the very best! ( Jon Lee, Harvey Mason ,Joe Morello comes after David Garibaldi & many) I never felt they are too loud! Lol.You might be right regarding the recording.That I have no way how it was done there! Thank you very much for replying & answering! Funny, now it doesn't sound that loud at all! Did anyone fix it!? Maybe, the place I was listening/ watching was the part of the effect??? It now all sound well balanced.Funny! Really!

@@swingyoucats Have NEVER heard Kevin Dorn's drums called "too loud." Never. He's one of the most tasteful drummers you will ever see, a total old time traditionalist. Drums are perfect.

i think the drums sound perfect. just like the other band members. no one is overpowering or out of place.
