In this video, I have attempted my hands at making my first-string art piece by re-using a plywood as my surface which I got from trash. I cleaned it and painted it black and started to make my squares. Keep dividing your squares and mark them all at half inches. In total I made seven squares. Use some finish nails and nail them on your markings. Then simply start from the inner square and start working around the square, by following the schematic that I have shared in this video. Just tie the knot starting from the first nail of the square, go around the complete square, and when you reach the end, tie the thread to the first nail, using the leftover thread from the initial knot, seal it using super glue and cut the loose ends as precisely as possible.
Continue with the rest of the squares in the same manner, alternating between your choice of colors of thread and voila, your thread art is completed!
Flaunt your statement piece by decorating that empty wall of the bedroom or hallway and for sure, it can be a conversation starter!

One more thing I would like to share with u ,as you said this is your first experience thats why i am telling this ,while nailing we should start from outers corner as we go inside squares we should slightly decrease the length of the nails in every square this will help in getting a proper 3D effect. Hope u dont mind 🙂

@@noshiamjad6451 Sorry for the late reply. I bought it from the local art store, but you could also find it online at Amazon.
@anusualcreates

@@noshiamjad6451 That is a really good point of having nails at different height to create a 3D effect. I had thought about it, and the main reason I chose to keep the levels same was mainly to keep things as simple as I can, since it was my first time making it and nailing some 800+ nails was not easy for me. In addition, by starting from inside and moving out, the already nailed nails would not get in the way. Of course, in the future I want to try a thread art where the nails are at different levels.

Amazing. Did you make a tutorial about the pen you modified for the thread? This is beautiful. For me the most daunting aspect is the idea of hammering in 850+ nails 😅
@anusualcreates
@anusualcreates 2 жыл бұрын
Hi there! Thank you so much and so sorry that it took so long to reply! No, I haven’t made a video yet of the pen, I will surely make one since many people have asked for it! Yeah, hammering so many nails is challenging. So I took some time for doing it. There was no hurry, so took my own sweet time to finish it. But you can always cut down the size of your thread art and that way you do not have to use so many nails. 😀

Any suggestions on a back ground color other than black?

You basically want contrast. So if you are using darker color thread, then use a brighter background and vice versa. Hope this helps!

It is actually just the outer shell of a regular pen. It helps with threading around the nail heads
