They are doing incredible patterns and handles at RCB. Been a stellar year for them.

$60 and $80 is not budget anymore. They are approaching Case prices, and I’d rather buy American

These are great knives, I love my RCB’s but I’m noticing that the last couple have had a decent jump in price, around £15 on previous models. I hope that changes because the knives themselves are largely the same in regardless to materials and quality
@ThriftyKaniffyАй бұрын
The stag handled ones will be pricier. I don't mind paying for the quality you receive. Thanks, Gruffalo.

Those are both really nice. Personally I like thicker stag scales. 👍

I own 10 Rosecraft traditional knives and keep having great difficulty pulling the blade out of the body of these knives, so much so I've broken my index and thumb nails several times and almost got my fingers in the way of the blade when it snaps back. I've had to return two Rosecrafts because I literally couldn't pull the blade out except with a pliers. I haven't had this issue with Case, Victorinox or Jack Wolf knives. I have had this issue with more than a few of the Rough Ryders (including the Rough Ryder Reserves) I've bought (I own over 100 of them) and have stopped buying them. I've added knife oil in hopes of getting them to pull out better but to no avail. My pull on many of my Rosecrafts are a 8 to a 10.

Sorry to hear that, Happy. These are easier to open than many of the other RCB.

This is more honest comment than what most KZbin knife reviewers offer, including Thrifty. If we don’t give them feedback they won’t bother to improve - you guys keep buying ALL of them
@ThriftyKaniffyАй бұрын
@@vitaliygz I only buy what I like, and recently they've made a lot of them which I like. I don't buy them all because I don't like them all. Have you ever seen me struggle to open a RCB on review? I don't speak on things which I don't encounter. If you have an issue with them take it to RCB directly, they do listen. Why do I need to be your conduit to express concern, particularly if I'm not experiencing what you're experiencing or is a feature that I prefer that you may not. I've mentioned the sharp edginess on the liners to them and the excessive swedging and they seem to have taken that in account. In fact, in this review I made a point to mention the sharpness of the bolster and what I did to rectify that. To say were not providing feedback is nonsense.

A traditional Senator is actually a Penknife design. A. Wright & Son, of Sheffield, chose to use the name for a Lambsfoot pattern, but it wasn't Ashley, but rather his dad Michael who first made it, (though there is some dispute about who first designed and named it). It is not a recent design, but not a traditional Lambsfoot pattern either. Great to see another company make a Lambsfoot though, and these are certainly nicely made. You struck gold with those Sandalwood covers 😊

Thanks for the info Jack. The wood is stunning.

Beautiful wood pattern! I haven't seen the Ashley Harrison Senator, but in my opinion, this strays too much from the traditional Senator to be called a Senator. Otherwise a beautiful pair of knives!

Call it whatever you like, Eric. Really is a great looking knife with excellent handle options.

Looks pretty good but the Arthur Wright Senator looks better with it's equal bolsters. Having said that the rosecraft is probably better made.
