Screw everybody and their opinions! You want a big diesel truck, get one! You only live once brother! I tow a handful of times a year, sometimes I need to tow heavy and I'd rather have it then have to pay someone or rent. I just like having something that can do whatever I need if I ever need it!

I just came across your Channel and I absolutely agree with you....Diesel is the way to go IMO! I just added a 2024 F350 Platinum Tremor with 6.7HO and I absolutely love it (after 10 month build time) I own a Preservation company that covers NC, SC, GA and TN and it rides so great, pulls great and just all around love it....I also have a 2021 Ram TRX and I love it to but it was not built for pulling Landscaping trailers. The TRX is a solid reliable truck that just hit 93k miles after buying it 2 years ago with 8900 on it....I won't not have a Diesel anymore after being one of those saying a diesel wasn't necessary unless I live on the road pulling heavy weight and boy was I wrong.

Its worth it just for number 1, safety. Not much is going to hurt you in one of these. Even with crappy fuel economy it is worth it just for this alone. Keep driving it daily, I do the same in a F350 superduty.

Daily driving a truck really doesn’t make any sense at all unless you’re actually using it. I save $800 per month just by driving my car for work alone.

Makes sense when someone can afford it and they can spend their money however they want. Far more vehicles on the road than a diesel truck that don’t make sense, but it’s a want not a need like most items people purchase now-a-days.

A modern pickup makes sense. At this point with the complexity of modern diesels and the increased fuel cost and how powerful/good gas engines have got a diesel makes little sense now. It is easy to get a 10-15k bill on these diesels. Quote out a cp4 failure. You are never going to make that money back
@tattooedmillionair
@tattooedmillionair Жыл бұрын
You make a good point (CP4), but its my understand that with the proper fuel grade "Top Tier certified" (which isn't everywhere in my area) and/or fuel lubricant, that is not a concern. And for a few dollars more ($30? $50$?) you can buy an aftermarket filter to protect from that to. and a even more expensive option is to replace the fuel pump every 70k to 90k miles - if I remember correctly if it "blows up" it starts between 100k to 150k miles (remanufactured about $500 or brand new $1k. not cheap but a LAST option maintenance).

I’ve driven both from enterpise 6.7 &7.3. Gassers suck. Not fun. If you’re going to spend money on a bullshit gassers just buy a 2006 Chevy 2500 6.0. Why spend 60-70k on a boring gasser? You can get one for 10-20k lol. If you’re spending big money just get the diesel and learn to do maintenance yourself so nobody fucks with it

Unless u need a big truck for towing and/or business activity as u explained, you can’t justify the cost and expense of driving around with a modern diesel truck weighing 8-10K lbs. Once you are out of warranty any maintenance unless u are a do it urself individual will place a higher burden of expenses on ur daily living. I have one bcus I have an RV and it happens to be my tow truck, the front end of my 5th wheel. If I decided to get rid of my 5th, the truck would be next. I have a lariat f350 2011 going on 13 yrs old. Every time I take it out on road trips I stress out just thinking if I broke down on the hiway without warranty. I keep it up as best as I can but as the years pile up u have to changing all the emission components which are very costly unless u delete and then u are non compliant with EPA. Don’t care to take that risk when I am traveling thru other states.

Not a stinky diesel pickup fan. I built and daily drive an 81 chevy Scottsdale K20 with a turbocharged big block. It runs great and it's tough as sh*t and nothing but cameras and thumbs up as I drive down the road and it's still in primer. There's not a chance in hell I'd buy a new truck no thanks

Respect. Last rig was a 2015 chevy 1500. Didn't have the power for what I needed it to do. When I knew I needed to upgrade (2019), the price of new and used trucks of this class were negligible. So I bought new. I treat my truck like my child. Expecting I can make it last my lifetime.

I've never driven nor even been inside a Honda CRV but I'd say your truck is 10X more comfortable to drive around town or on a long trip! Good to finally see a video where someone points out all the pros and cons of this truck!!! The cons are there but you just have to be aware of it especially driving in town or need to find parking in a particular area! Regarding #1 - crash protection !!! Absolutely right!!! In addition - having a giant truck like that, people automatically move out of the way from you!!! Do you run into issues with Regen if you drive short distances? Great video!!!
@OldSoulMillennial

I constantly switch between driving this truck and the wife's CRV. There is a very noticeable difference in road respect. In the CRV, cars frequently cut me off. In the truck, its rare, as people think twice before cutting me off. 36k Miles in, no issues with the regen. The Rergen doesn't affect me getting around town. The truck does prefer longer trips, as it operates most efficiently when it reaches operating temp, but I use it to get groceries all the time. I have not had to do a standing/stopped regen yet. A few things I've learned. 1) Don't use cheap crap DEF. Walmarts stuff is garbage IMO. I Recommend OEM or Blue DEF. I Run Blue DEF Only. 2) You will notice when the truck is in regen. Acceleration will be delayed/sluggish, fuel milage will drop and when you step outside the cab, you can smell it. I just continue to drive normally. 3) Several times I have shut the truck off during a regen. When you need to shut the truck off during a regen, put it in park, and let it idle for a few minutes. This allows oil to to help cool down the engine and turbo. Also, pay attention to the engine idle sound. After sitting at idle for a minute or so, you will hear the idle change slightly. To me, this is the engines indication that it understand I want to shut her down, and its ok to do so . Likely not in the manual, but the truck prefers this.

Everything you said is extremely true and I'm on board with it all. However, it's not necessarily diesel related and you can easily use the same reasons for the gas model superduty trucks. I was deciding between a diesel xlt and a gas lariat 7.3L a few months ago and ended up with the gasser. The cost was negligible between the two due to the higher cost trim of the lariat and the diesel in the xlt. I just found that it takes a really long time to recoup the 10,500 cost of the diesel option. I will say that I love driving this thing every day. It does more than any car will ever do, except match gas mileage of course.
@OldSoulMillennial
@OldSoulMillennial Жыл бұрын
You are 100% right that it's not all diesel related. This video is just my personal opinionated response to the super-speeders video. Also had to set a little bit of click bait!

@Sventy11
@Sventy11 Жыл бұрын
@@sugmaball5383 when you're dealing with a $1k difference, the cost isn't part of the equation. I liked the amenities of the lariat and honestly I don't need the power of a diesel so I had a hard time going that route. My 2021 had a 6.2L, my 2022 has the 7.3L, so maybe when I buy my 2023 I'll get the diesel 😆

My trusty 2017 Ferd F350 SRW stroke has been a good reliable truck in my 5 years of full-time for daily drive and pulling my 9,000 lbs trailer over the road. My replacement is a 2023 Ram 3500 Dually with the high output Cummins and will be my daily drive and will be pulling my 5th wheel toy hauler occasionally. I hope to keep this truck and drive it daily as long as I can. Engine brake id way better on cummins than the stroker as well as the sound(Cummins sounds like a semi specially when castrated). I like them ford and ram diesel trucks.

buy a 3/4 ton to do the work you need it to do. Than buy another to do DD is more expensive and far less logical than buying the truck you need and DD when its not needed.... I need a 3/4 ton for work, dont need it every day to haul big loads but nevertheless, its still required at times (bigger bed especially)......not about to buy another 1/2 ton or car for days I dont need it😂 Being higher up is a huge benefit plus the fact you will win almost any accident hands down......3/4 abd 1 tons share almost nothing with a half ton....its like completley different segment altogether......you realize this on the first drive if you owned a half ton....frame, running gear, weight is way more substantial I am contractor so a car is completely out if the question unless its a second vehicle.....havent owned a car since 1989😂.....everyones life is different but if you haul or tow a truck is not really debateable.....#1 selling vehicle on the road.... Pickups will be around forever.....

I understand your point. My short response: I worked my butt off to purchase this rig. It would be nice to have a cosmetically perfect, low milage truck; BUT, What good is a shiny low milage truck when you hit the grave. I really enjoy driving this rig as my daily.
