So much fun to be a Norwegian and finding a skilled American "Rosemaler". I am studying it and here in Norway, and our country is so influenced by American culture. So it is amazing to see what you know, you even know about the styles developed in the different parts of Norway, and how to paint them. I am glad to see things can cross borders, even this. And this is a lost art. Might be so that Americans are much better than us at this now ;)

Tusen Takk!! I truly appreciate your comments and again thank you. I have actually been rosemaling since I was 11 and that was many years ago. LOL I am the granddaughter of Norwegian immigrants on both sides of the tree and was blessed to have been introduced to it early and am very involved in the rosemaling world here in the states , I do know a number of rosemalers in Norway as well. In some ways, it had become a lost art, but it kept going here thanks to a man named Per Lysne in the early to mid 1900's. It grew from there and the history runs very deep here. If you are on facebook, you can find a private page called Rosemaling. It is actually an international group of rosemalers and you may find it interesting to join in there. I hope you do and I hope that you find rosemaling as joyful and fulfilling as I! Again, mange takk.
