Rosemary comes off as someone you could sit down and have a real heart to heart with. She seems quite honest with herself and not hiding where she's coming from. I like her and would have loved to have known her. What a genuine lady who survived Hollywood.

Without a doubt one of the greatest singers of all time!!

A great entertainer and a genuine Lady, there was no maudlin self pity there but a very poignant moment when the interviewer said " You always look so happy?" and her tone of voice as she says "Do I?" She faced down her demons and came back, an inspiration.

when I was a little girl I was a member of a Children's Choir in Derry Ireland. We toured America on several occasions and on the 1958 tour we were brought to CBS studio in Hollywood to meet Bing Crosby and Rosemary Clooney. One of the highlights of my life. We even sang for them.

At the beginning, look at that tiny waist! And a power-packed voice, beautiful face, lots of talent, and a great sense of humility. So glad she made it through the bad times and had a good come back.

I love this!, I've LOVED Rosemary ever since I was 8 years old, and I still listen to her everyday, I love her laugh through this interview, so 'knowing' and wise about the moments in her life, hard won wisdom, but lived through - I think she survived all! Now, will someone make a big screen biography of this AMAZING woman!, PLEASE, its well past time...the Sondra Locke TV movie was ok, but not long enough or comprehensive enough - and it had one glaring flaw, Tony Orlando as Jose Ferrer, now who came up with that piece of casting?! Does anyone else want a big screen version of her life (done right) as well? Isn't it finally time!?

She's being a little rough on herself; a lot of people who recover from drug addiction gain a lot of weight. It's also likely she was on meds for the mental illness she had suffered, and they can make a person gain weight, too. She was a survivor, and she did it with class and heart.

It was the 1950's;I was a typical(but gay,who led a double life)nerdy teen, all my friends were also teens, but none gay. Somehow,I manage to play the role successfully. My male buddies were all at he "drafting" age. I escaped the draft,as the doctors stamped "rejected",not geniuses of being gay,but discovered I had a heart murder. I slipped into the "gay" life, long term relationships etc.,etc.,! I'm now 85 y.o.,have had a wonderful and full filling life! Everyone in my family knew, and I was never ashamed at admitting to being gay to friends! God has blessed me...

Fascinating woman! Thanks so much for sharing this interview, parsonkrb. I'm a longtime Rosie fan & I've read her autobiography but it was wonderful hearing her story out of her own mouth. I was particularly blown away by the Robert Kennedy footage & the rare photos, including the shot with another legend Sarah Vaughan. I never would've put those 2 together but it makes perfect sense that they would know each other since they both were signed to Columbia records in the early 50's. Thanks again!

I absolutely adore Rosemary Clooney and always have. I was born and have lived my entire life in Cincinnati OHIO and the Clooneys are a big deal here. Rosie's brother Nick was our local newscaster on channel 12 for many years and I adore him as well. And, by the way, he is George's father. I had the privilege of seeing Rosie live at Riverbend and she was wonderful. I never lost my love or respect for her despite her demons and hardships. I really grieved for her when she passed away.

She was very enjoyable to watch and listen to....Fought hard to come back...Her 1st husband Jose may have been great in many things, but, as she said he was lousy at fidelity and he couldn't sing if his life depended on it....although he tried and hearing him sing You're just in Love with Rosie you just cringe for him....I hope she and Dante had a much happier life together!

Many years ago my mother commented kind of wistfully that Rosemary started gaining weight when she was having five kids, and after awhile “she couldn’t hide behind the couch on TV anymore”. So obviously that ruse of trying to cover up her pregnancies didn’t fool her viewers! P.S. My mother had five kids too, so she understood, although she didn’t get fat.
