I'm very glad to have heard this audio-documentary. It meant a lot to me.

I love Rosemary Sutcliff's stories, particularly those with a Roman setting. Thanks for making this. It was clearly a labour of love. I keep trying to find filmed/recorded interviews with Rosemary. I presume none survive.

Thanks for the kind words! She did record an episode of BBC R4's Desert Island Discs, which as far as I'm aware is the only audio recording of her that's available (www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p009mj4y), while there are no videos.

@@coffeeandcircuses8404 Many thanks for the heads up on the programme. I've just read The Silver Branch again after listening to your wonderful programme. What struck a chord most with me from your documentary was the realisation that Rosemary's physical senses were so acute partly because of her disability. Her descriptions of place, the weather, and the sights, sounds and smells of a location are extraordinary.

I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this documentary and I am very pleased to see that there are many more on Spotify. I watched the "Eagle" when I was training in the Royal Navy in 1977. Although this was aimed at younger readers, I remember the TV room in the barracks where I was staying being full up. The audience ranged from new recruits like myself to grizzled old salts who had served for years! I note that Kate Gilliver bought the DVD last year, the same time as me. She has trear in store. I visited Vindolanda last week with my wife and we binged watched it again this week. It was fabulous, they certainly don't make them like that any more!
