This is super instructive !! These games are super hard fights, with you and your opponents finding great ressources ! We can clearly see how the level of your opponents increase episode after episode. And it shows what we might be lacking to reach the next level. Also very impressive how consistently you can beat these 2000 rated players ! Keep it up ! These speedruns help me a ton ! I reached 2000 blitz today2, 2 months after doing it in rapid, and I can clearly tell your videos helped me a lot!!! Thank you so much!!!!

Difference between Eric and mortals: 1. Eric blunders a pawn, delaying a win by a few moves 2. I blunder a pawn, hastening a loss by a few moves

I was following along with the third game with Stockfish. At the conclusion, Eric said it was "probably the cleanest game," but as I followed along, I was stunned by how many missed opportunities and mistakes were made on both sides. I expect a lot from Eric, and an opponent who is 2000+ and a FIDE candidate master should have performed better. In his quick run-through, he only noted the missed opportunity to trap the bishop, but there was much more to come. For example, his Rb7 just three moves later evaluated as -6.0 before and -2.3 after -- a huge swing. The correct move was Nc3, and after Re1, Nxe1+, Rxe1. The problem with Rb7 (which, fortunately for Eric, his opponent missed) was that Bf3 pins the knight to the rook. Black's only move to save both is f5, which weakens the king's defense, and black doesn't have a quick and easy way to release the pin. White then trades the bishop for the knight, creating a doubled pawn on the e file, which becomes another target for white. Instead, white retreated his bishop, which gave Eric the chance to play Nc3 and avoid the pin altogether. In doing so, Eric regained the advantage that he had just conceded -- and a bit more.

I’ve never really gotten an answer from you Eric but, is there a book you can get to learn all the different openings because I really still feel like a novice when you rattle off all the different names of the openings, and the defenses. I would like to engrave them in my consciousness, like you have them in yours.

In game 1 @3:00 when opponent played b5 the way I saw it (and I'm far lower rated than Eric) opponent had 3 defenders and Eric only had 2 attackers, so I would've taken the pawn (which Eric pointed out was the best engine move).

You need to go to chessmood like Eric has promoted that’s all it took for me. Simply pushing your central pawn up to attack the opponents developed knight usually gains you a tempo and you are developed quicker. Opening principles course on chessmood takes only a few hours to get that down. Then you need to start asking yourself “what is my opponent trying to do?” After every move they make. Don’t be completely selfish and have tunnel vision it can backfire if you don’t see a clear tactic. You’ll be at a 1000 in no time. But seriously opening principles chessmood is the way to go

If you're 1600, don't sweat openings. Study tactics. Knowing the ins and outs on 7. Qb6 doesn't really matter if we blunder a rook at move 30.

Against the dragon the yugoslav is killer so why not just use it in reverse Ik black fine to play h5 usally and hold but the pressure can be Nice. You keep +1 from opening and black played all top moves if you dont look at dragon as not a top move. I love this for white. I think the computer even says black is better in your posision. And in sicilian if you get d5 black losing so if you get d4 with black it should be good to play. Atleast what i learned from the sicilian.
