Rosie O'Donnell is responding to her 19-year-old daughter's claim that her upbringing wasn't 'normal.' On Thursday, Rosie's daughter, Vivienne, posted a TikTok saying she loves her mom, 'but one thing she's not done is normal.' Rosie then responded with her own TikTok video reacting to that assertion.

It seems that Rosie did not want her children to feel as though they are celebrities living in a celebrity world so she tried to avoid explicitly stating the public persona of her friends to her children. It doesn't seem to be a big deal, I think her daughter is coming to the realisation that her childhood was atypical (whose wasn't?).

When I see comments like yours it just comes off very phony. Anyone who has really truly struggled knows that money doesn’t stop abuse, health issues, mental health issues, or a billion other painful things. She was obviously also being funny but you needed to make it about you. You have no idea what anyone is going through, and it’s very shallow and says a lot about you that you think being wealthy is all anyone needs in life. That’s sad.

I come from a long line of musicians, and I had the good fortune to meet a lot of musical legends as I was growing up. They were all regular people, interesting people showed run into at family events and backstage at concerts. We didn’t treat these ‘family friends’ any differently, but my parents made damn sure I knew their music, even if I didn’t appreciate it at the time. Music education is important in so many ways. It’s also important to know how your family connections were formed and to hear all of the great ‘behind the scenes’ stories straight from the source. That being said…my childhood was anything but normal, (whatever normal is), and I’m so grateful for that! I was loved and taken care of, and that’s all that matters.

If Rosie wants to adopt a full grown 30 year old adult, I’d be the most grateful child she has, and I’d never disparage her in the media, or say anything negative about her EVER. I’d worship the ground she walked on for changing my life. Hit me up, Ro’, I’m a great kid, and I cook and clean! 🤗

Why can't children or young adults appreciate what parents go through it's tough being a parent.... I can't imagine how Rosie O'Donnell felt when her kids say negative things on social media about their upbringing and Rosie ...it breaks my heart that they feel the desire to post on social media and tell the whole world family issues ...so sad but Rosie keep your head up and I hope your kids appreciate you .

I've never been a big Rosie fan. At the same time, common sense tells me she did the best she could with what parenting skills she had. The problem is these entitled kids who shoot their mouths off yet know nothing. I'm a Republican and I DO BELIEVE that Rosie worked her butt off, she succeeded and she has a lot of love. That's not a daughter, it's a leech.
