I really love this video. I hate saggy linings, and I always try to make mine nice and smooth. I love your construction method and the way you use clips to track seam allowances. I've picked up so much from your tutorial.

@@RosiesArtStudio the other great thing for me is that you are using that particular machine so I know in advance what thicknesses give you trouble etc oh and your timestamps are really helpful! You're just a wonderful teacher all round!

Always learn something new from you! The 1/2" clip tip is the bomb! You know I have the same Juki, I have found that when using vinyl and the 1/8 foot, I often have trouble, doesn't seem to provide enough pressure over the area of stitching resulting in poor feeddog feed. I tend to revert back to my regular foot for most of the construction.

Yes...the 1/2” clip is a really great tip. I can’t even remember how I figured that one out. That 1/8” foot does not have much area to apply pressure, but I wonder if it would help if you increased the pressure on the foot. I have not had a problem with it.

Hey Rosie, lovely tutorial! Would it be OK in leather? All that birthing..Would it damage? Any advice would be appreciated.
@RosiesArtStudio3 жыл бұрын
This bag would be beautiful in leather assuming you have a sewing machine that will sew leather. If you are worried about birthing the bag, you ca always do a drop in lining. Thanks for watching!

what a great video. I loved it when you said you take your time and don't rush and you like the process and results better. I do have a question though, you've used double-sided tape in your entire bag, was there a reason you didn't use it in the straps? I've made straps that way and found that the DST holds the fabric and vinyl better than clips and just wonder why you've chosen clips over DST.

I am glad you liked the video. You certainly can use the tape to hold the two sides of the straps together. The tape is expensive, so I use it when it gives me the most benefit. I would be using a lot of tape between the handles and the shoulder straps and the clips work just as well for me at no cost.

Thanks for the tutorial. Do you put anything like cardboard or something at the bottom of the bag?

I will have to see if anyone else has an issue. So, far it seems to be working fine for other people.
