Rosie, for your drip do you just melt chocolate and add a little veg oil? No ganache drip? Thank you so much for a beautiful cake tutorial x
@Rosiesdessertspot4 жыл бұрын
Hi Karen, thank you for your comment! I mix my chocolate with cream to make a chocolate ganache, but if I want to paint my drip, then I use vegetable oil :) it just ensures the chocolate dries up hard and makes it easier to paint in, without dinting the drip.

Hi rosie.. This is beautiful. I tried following the instructions step by step for the drip.. When I poured my melted chocolate on the buttercream it set well but after a few seconds the whole chocolate and the drip starting leaving the buttercream I have also taken a picture to show you. Please advice me how should I send u the picture.. so u can guide me plzz..
@Rosiesdessertspot4 жыл бұрын
hi lovely! this usually happens when the buttercream has little droplets of moisture on the surface. the oil in the chocolate doesnt want to play nice, and the moisture stops it from attaching to the cake. this means it continues to drop down the cake, or the drips break and you find the end of the drop slides down to the bottom of the cake. I recommend placing your cake at room temp in a well air conditioned room if you live in warmer climates. leave it here for about half an hour or until the moisture / tiny droplets have evaporated, before dripping the chocolate over the top. i have a strong feeling this is the problem. feel free to email your cake photo to me though just in case! you can reach me on rosiesdessertspot@gmail.com xxx

Beautiful cake! As always! You’re so incredibly talented! 😍 question: you said if you can’t use vodka or rose water to use lemon juice... why would people not be able to use rose water? I know I can’t use vodka because I don’t drink alcohol. Does the rose water you’re talking about contain alcohol? I’m confused because I have rose water but it’s non alcoholic so I didn’t use it just in case. I used lemon extract which worked but made my macarons smell lemony 🙊

Hermosooo!!! Espero y me respondas,una vez trate de hacer el drip con chocolate y pintarlo gold pero como que se rompió el chocolate en el pastel 😔 algun consejo
@Rosiesdessertspot5 жыл бұрын
Hi hun, thank you for your comment :) In terms of your chocolate cracking, this normally happens because it sets too quickly because of the cold fridge temperature or sudden changes in temperature. Either that, or the cake hasn't had time to settle once you frosted it, and so the cake shifts every so slightly / sinks a little and this movement can cause cracking in your chocolate. Adding in vegetable oil makes your chocolate more flexible, so it is less likely to crack. Maybe consider letting the chocolate on the cake set at room temperature instead of placing it in the fridge, and also allow your frosted cake to set up overnight in the fridge so it has time to settle. I hope that helps! And if this still keeps happening, another alternative to chocolate is ganache :)

Ahh awesome, sounds fabulous and just in time for Mothers Day :D although I think mothers day in Europe is on a different date? It is pretty easy to paint, the trick is to change brushes and use a thinner one for the actual thin drip part ;) adding in lots of vegetable oil into the chocolate also makes it a TON easier and less messy :)
