Not sure if serious, but 350-380 m/s is nowhere near Mach 2.2. More like 1.2 - 1.4. 250 kg of warhead on a missile of this size is still impressive though.

They probably mean average speed. Mach 2.2 would be peak speed after engine burn.

@@ottomais NATO countries do produce a lot of over engineered junk, but overall it seems to work a lot better than most ex Soviet and even latest RUS junk. Just look at the results in UKR, Iraq, ISR/Syria to name a few.

@@JorgeGarcia-lw7vc , Russian "junk" showed in Ukraine and Syria it is much more reliable, effective and simpler in usage comparing to Western junk! That says even Ukrainians in their Telegram channels! It became obvious for them, the old Soviet ATGMs are more effective and stable on the battlefield (in the real battle & weather conditions!) than all that NLAWs, Javelins, etc! This is why they just throw away all the NLAWs and Javelins (they are too heavy) during their retreats, the LDNR militia has much more of them (captured) now than Ukrainian army has! 😆

Exactly.... This is an extremely reliable, extremely effective probably very cost effective missile compared to most NATO types of similar ability... And that's what makes them so much better. For every one missile NATO Nations produce, Russian can make 10 or 20 of the same or better quality.

Different tools for different purposes. Drones are good for loiter time and observation of targets. These missiles are for a fairly rapid response and a bigger boom. You dont have a toolbox with just flat head screwdrivers. You have a diverse set of tools for different needs. Also the s-70 is a stealth drone with similar internal bays to the su-57 so it could loiter silently while carrying weapons like this for speedy destruction at low or high altitudes.
