The ANA guys are not that worried about getting surounded, because the ANA and Brits toghether had close to a hundred? troops gathered in a very open area. The insurgents dont have that many troops accumulated in a certain area. And if they would have, it would be a big mistake for them to change from guerilla warfare to take the Brits on in an open battle: with british air superiority and the ability to bring in more troops with trucks in a day and helis in a couple of hours that would be sucidal for the insurgents and is simply not necessary. Its a far better tactic to avoid all troop concentrations of the westerners in the field at all and just fire three mortar rounds on british compounds by surprise on a calm day and than vanish again or have a sniper taking a single shot and than hide the weapon in a cache and walk off openly or mine the whole area with just 5 insurgents in total or just fire some rounds into the air with one guy whenever you see the Brits leaving their compound to slow their advance down. And the ANA guys were aware of this, while the British seemed to fail to realise how this war is fought.

I find it interesting how even in 2011, 10 years before their decisive defeat, the problems with the ANA were freely on display, and those 10 extra years changed nothing. It seems that poor tactics and coordination, over confidence in their men, dismissal, or underestimation of their enemy and over reliance on Western assets all led to a messy operation, but as Ross says, it was likely deemed an overwhelming success. It makes me wonder how many times such a scenario played out , how many times NATO troops had to intervene when things went south and how many times Afghan commanders saw only the success and not their own shortcomings in command. The fact the ANA nearly completely collapsed the second NATO troops left suggests the ANA were wholely unprepared to conduct operations without them.

We will see which one of these two promises are fulfilled." 2021: The world can see which promise is the true one Indeed Promise of Allah comes true... I think you're right, but I also noticed that there was a huge amount of arrogance among the Afghan commanding officers. They refused to take advice and went with their own decisions. It's something I've noticed in this part of the world where although they have limited experience they wanted to do everything themselves instead of working together. They were obviously incredibly inexperienced and now in hindsight looking at the fact that the Taliban took over the country within just a few weeks shows how poor they were as commanders

The reason united States has its army in Afghanistan has extremely little to do with 9-11. We all know the Afghan Taliban are not an international threat. They simply dont like foreigners dictating their country. The main reasons behind the US, UK being in Afghanistan is to get close to Russia. They want to build a puppet government in Afghanistan so they can carry activities from Afghanistan. Afghanistan is like a base. A base that NOBODY in History was ever able to take control over. It is the graveyard of all superpowers to ever set foot in that country. The Americans and British want this for themselves. A base in the middle of Afghanistan to be able to easily meddle into neighboring countries like Pakistan, Iraq, Iran, Russia. America has its own terrorism problem to solve at home. Domestic terrorism in America is high.

Maybe, but I really don't think so. Afghanistan was used as a scapegoat for the Bush administration to add Trillions of dollars to the war industry, and made all the investor's rich on another level. The only reason the US has committed to staying in Afghanistan, is because the US can never, ever admit when they were wrong. Case in point, supporting "rebels" instead of keeping Assad in power in Syria. If the US was smart, they would retract their statements about Assad and decide that its obvious the country is much more stable with him in power. Not happening though.

- I was in Kunar Provence in 2011. The ANA was a joke. Between the ANA and Afghan national police in green on blue attacks they probably killed more coalition forces than bad guys. We had patrols where the ANA would disengage and retreat. We started to say ISAF stood for “I See Americans Fighting.” If coalition forces pull out and leave Afghanistan to the ANA it will be just like Iraq after the pullout. Taliban will be back in power inside a year

The war was hell but there is peace look at North Korea no body talks about that but where did that leave us now Afghanistan is no different an oppressive regime lead by radical Islam whether you agree or not it’s true this war is gonna be won but not the way you think it is look at Iraq it took 2 separate wars now it’s time to re build

I'm watching this, as a retired Army vet, and I'm confused. If we go there to dominate them, they come out and fight against us with all they have. But when we are there to help them, and give them training and MILLIONS of dollars worth of equipment, they drop it and run away at the first sign of resistance. Just doesn't make sense to me why they are so damn weak and scary.

Carry theres a difference between fighting for an ideology and for money am sorry to tell you but these people consider any foreigner in uniform on their soil ultmiately as an enemy... Hope thats reduces some confusion
@carycoller31404 жыл бұрын
@@aqibchoudhry1601 I'm not confused at all. I 100% understand all of what you say. My use of the word "confused" was not meant to mean I was truly confused. But I don't understand a culture that will fight against someone who is there to help, but run away and/or kneel to an oppressive group that will kill them for having differing views.

I think that 30caliber on to the Apache actually are 30mm ( 1.2 inches diameter ) chain guns. Normally they do carry 300 rounds but it cand carry up to 1200 rounds if wished.

I'm sure there's some nice Afghanis but DAMN, the coalition is WASTING THEIR TIME...... after we leave the Afghans will just go back to how they were, they are incapable of making an actual Army. It's a shame but it's their thing, let them live it! Stop wasting time, lives and money over there. I mean their "leader" at that point LITERALLY said, "Don't worry." "We need to eat, we haven't had breakfast." When being told of advancing Taliban lmao LIKE w t f there is ZERO HOPE for them!
