The thing is Cornette has a lot of new listeners who are not used to Corny's takes on modern wrestling. They just want him to trash on AEW, but don't expect Jim to dislike WWE, when in reality Cornette has been always very balanced in the fact that he mostly hates ALL modern wrestling, including WWE (and the indies). The new ones just expected him to mock AEW for TK's antics and not WWE, so they're surprised.

AEW haters watch it for entertainment, and some watch to see the flaws of AEW and what Jim has to say bout AEW. Jim Cornette have always been critical of WWE as well, he is outspoken why he doesn't like to watch NXT. Jim Cornette likes the current direction of WWE, because it doesn't have major flaws like it used to, hence we don't see him criticising much. When it comes to AEW it has major flaws from top to bottom, Cornette was the same guy who sayed Dynamite was the best show a year back when Tony was doing things right. And I agree with Jim on Wyatt 6, year back when Wyatt returned I didn't agree with Jim but latter on Jim was proven right again when Wyatt booking turned to be spooky and directionless in the end.

Jim does a very solid job of explaining his position I think. I disagree with some things, but I will say, they’re accelerating things very quickly with this stable. The comments about the backstage crew and production just being magically safe the next week is one of those things, a thing that a casual viewer might see and be like, “ wait but how did they do X?” The video packages with Howdy are great on the other hand!

Suspension of disbelief is the bedrock of professional wrestling. I can't suspend disbelief enough for mass murder & people possibly wrestling in costume, which if they don't then they're just Rowan, Lumis, etc.; so that serves as nothing more than a wider disconnect. The thing is, they never said it wasnt entertaining. They just said it shouldnt be on a wrestling show. The argument of "well, i was entertained" means nothing, really. Hell, Jim always praised Bray for his promos and being able to get people invested, he just hated the phony supernatural stuff. And its the same here.

What people have to understand is, Jim was an adult when wrestling became popular. He will never understand what its like to be a kid and seeing the Undertaker and Kanes supernatural powers and thinking they are those characters. Which explains why he was never on board with that stuff. Its much easier for us to suspend belief with the Wyatts, because we know what it was like to be a kid and see that stuff.

They’re all mid at best. Don’t get me wrong, in ring action is obviously NOT the priority with this group, nor should it be. In WWE, character and promos are king. But don’t lie and say they can “go” in the ring. They’re nothing special whatsoever. I’m willing to have my mind potentially changed on Bo, I’ve never seen him with a serious character. But I’ve seen more than enough of the rest.

Anyone that thought he’d like it clearly haven’t listened to him for very long. I usually skip those ones that I know he’ll hate that I like. Or 95% of his videos about womens wrestling. It’s his opinion and part of the character/draw is that he’s outspoken and unwavering in his opinions. That all being said, the “unbelievability” of it is either going to bother you or not. But if it really does, then you should probably be really concerned about how the Rock didn’t get in any trouble for his beat down of Cody Rhodes. Or any of the numerous assaults that happen backstage. Some of this stuff is just not for certain members of the audience.

Personally I'm not a fan of a group with superpowers in modern wrestling because of the history we had with the last 2 attempts, it worked with undertaker because he can actually wrestle since the day he started working with bret hart and he wins by wrestling great matches while the find was kicking out at 1 and basically imminent to everything and now we got 6 of them unbeatable guys that sell nothing and when you put them against an LA knight, cody or seth you don't know what to do with these people and it literally happened at hell in a cell 2019 people need to be reasonable than fall in line with the cool stuff yes it looks cool but it doesn't get you far

I lean towards more of Jim's take. I'm good with having the characters in the ring fighting and the promo was pretty cool on the VHS to give context as to why. I am not impressed with the fake ass fog machine and the creepy lighting. Plus killing Gable and then he just shows up like nothing happened the next week is fake. It reminds me too much of that WCW faction with Kevin Sullivan and the Zodiac Man just with a bigger budget. They need to start showing up in the ring and taking care of business in the ring its starting to get old already.

I don't like the Uncle Howdy stuff cause people are gonna end up turning on it soon. If Bray god rest his soul. Couldn't get this character and people ended up tuning on Bray cause of Uncle Howdy. When Bray passed away he was playing the Uncle Howdy character. People only fake like this character cause people are fond of Bray Wyatt. But I also understand that there were characters like Undertaker and Kane. Who were similar to Uncle Howdy. But Jim's opinions can be very well controversial. In an interview some while back you had Undertaker say that characters like his don't work now a days. Gotta admit it but Taker saying this means alot to the future of the Uncle Howdy stuff. But I am willing to give it a chance. Is it gonna work I don't see it lasting that long. People are gonna turn on Bo Dallas just like they did Bray.

Everything is not for everybody, bottom line. It was okay but not great. I agree with Uncle Corny. The Fiend was great when he debut but it went to meh like Brian said. The Undertaker was awesome but it had it moments. Yes it’s interesting but SMILE everyone, it’s only TV and it’s suppose to be entertaining and the times have changed. That’s like seeing wrestlers dressed and not in ring attire. 😊

I think Cornette's and Bryan's point is that you can maintain kayfabe in social media era, but it's way easier to do, if your character is grounded and "down to earth", like MJF being an asshole all the time.
