I think the problem with running with the tweener stuff is that there's too many tweeners in aew. Toni Storm, the BCC, and MJF would each be more effective in a vacuum where they were only talent doing this in a sea of clear faces and heels. When too many wrestlers do that at the same time it just muddies the water and makes everyone less valuable.

Yeah, MJF/Ostrich is the goal. But IMAGINE him in WWE. MJF/Punk would be fire, but then there's Cody, Drew, Orton, Gunther etcetera. The possibilities in WWE would've been endless. And Endeavor would've snapped him up in a heartbeat. Guess he figured it's better to be the big fish in a small pond rather than just another big fish in an ocean of big fish.
@mechtronikz2289
@mechtronikz2289 3 ай бұрын
That probably is the case. However, if he really wanted to bet on himself, he'd have gone to the ocean. It doesn't take effort to be seen as the only big fish in a small pond, but a big fish in the ocean has to work for recognition. Roman Reigns started out as just a fish in the ocean. He slowly got bigger until he came back a shark. Now, every fish in that ocean has to acknowledge his presence when he swims by. He also has to learn that not everyone goes to WWE to become a star. Some go there for a sky large enough to shine brightly in. If the star chooses to stay in a black hole, it'll eventually collapse.

Eddie Guerrero did it best being a clear babyface, while cutting babyface promos and doing heel moves to win. The fans including myself knew Eddie was the hero, but we expected for him to lie, cheat & steal the win. Because he found a way to make it enjoyable. I don't think that level can be duplicated again. Because we will just know "oh he's doing a Eddie Guerrero" also Rick flair as being the dirtiest player in the game. You didn't expect him to lie blow or eye poke, but it wasn't a surprise when he did it and we we're all for it. Especially his match winning streak, before he fought Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania 24.

Random thought, what if mjf got called by WWE when he was hurt and wanting him to come over, maybe mjf was going to and he had a meeting with Tony and told him in order for him to come back he has to have creative control over the mjf brand and Tony gave it to him. Who knows, just a thought

I think Cornette is hardest on WWE because he had high hopes for them and wanted them to succeed so there would be 2 viable companies. But what's happened is that he's found more complementary things to say about WWE since Paul Levesque took over and Vince McMahon left than anything else. He still likes MJF, Osprey to a degree and some of the other guys, but I can't say I disagree with him when he buries Tony Khan's booking. The barbed wire stuff is bad enough and will scare away casual viewers, but a flamethrower? Seriously? At a "sports-based wrestling" show? MJF is great, but he's an idiot for tattooing a corporate logo on his ankle. He should have gone to WWE, where he would have had more exposure and made more money long term. I've hated WWE for 20 years, and for good reason. But I'm not kissing Tony Khan's butt either. AEW has actually gotten worse since Punk left and there's nobody in WWE I want to see wrestle. Osprey has talent, but he's not ready. Who is MJF going to wrestle that will draw money and bring in more fans? I wasted so much time watching AEW, where the athleticism at times is great but it's all for nothing because there's no storytelling. I've seen guys blade before. Blood doesn't shock me anymore.
