Laurens Vocaal gives students the opportunity to be trained in the profession of choir conducting and ensemble singing. Concerts like these, performed by students and professional singers, are the first manifestations of even more training opportunities, all together called Laurens Kooracademie. Thanks to Codarts, the conservatory of Rotterdam, for cooperating with us.
Laurens Vocaal biedt studenten de kans om zich te bekwamen in het vak van koordirectie en ensemblezang. Concerten zoals deze, uitgevoerd door studenten en professionele zangers, zijn de eerste uitingen van nog veel meer opleidingskansen, die tezamen de Laurens Kooracademie vormen.

I (and about 100 of my closest friends) performed this Mass last Sunday (with two pianos and harmonium). What a joy! The Cum Sancto is amazing. Just when you think it's about to wind down, it comes back even harder. Ditto the Et Vitam section. I pity the pianist, who has an extremely heavy lift to get through this work! I was positioned in the middle of the chorus for this performance and the fortissimo sections were almost overwhelming. I'm very glad to have had the opportunity to perform this piece. Thank you Mr. Rossini! And so it's not totally about me... The performance in this video is wonderful. Thank you for sharing it with the world.
