With freedom of speech (or any other freedom) comes responsibility. These people seem not to realize that. The management rules are reasonable and do not "violate their free speech." They simply limit what can be done within the community. You wanna wave signs and holler? Go somewhere else.

I agree with management. Seriously- keep ALL your views to your coffee groups. We live in a 55+ modular home community- and they think they can put little flags on EVERYONEs property 5-6 political holidays throughout the year. They should not force their nationalism on everyone who lives here. Yes. Keep your views to yourselves basically. We are all informed. We will not agree. So move on. ❤

letting people have to understand this in the context of the steady decline in public life, public anything. Everything is becoming privatized, so it can be controlled by private interest in the government doesn’t even have to be involved. this story needs to include whether or not there have been pure speech or symbolic speech expressions for the fascist side and if there was any pushback or restriction.

It seems management, the Golden Rain Foundation, has the right to make such rules restricting speech on its private property. If so, it's one good reason not to live in such a community. (My grandparents were early residents, for 1965-1980 or so.)

They chose to live in a planned community and they're surprised there are rules? Free speech is not an absolute right nor will it ever be. Try your free speech talking over a judge in a court heading and see what happens. Besides if they don't like the rules they can always leave instead of imposing their free speech on others. What happens if free speech was actually absolute? The example you mentioned does not apply tho
@hoklau19365 ай бұрын
@@theWACKIIRAQI Another example. Try talking over Trump in his rally. Still another one. Talk over a police officer who just pulled you over for DUI. Try any of these and share your experience

Private businesses like KZbin and Facebook limit free speech, and I bet most of the Rossmoor residents are fine with that. But they don't like it when Rossmoor, another private business limits their free speech.

Look, back when it became obvious that some revisions were needed for The Constitution... Those on the forethought, became known as the First Amendment... Which include : Freedom of Speech, Freedom of Assembly, Freedom of Redress the Government, Freedom of Religion, and Freedom of the Press ... Of course those first 10 Amendment's became known as the Bill of Rights 🗽 🇺🇸
